You are a Monster. Of History.

That could be a good game name.

WARNING: LEECHES

Right, Sorry to Leech, but I'd really like some help with the RGS - I'm barely competent. Not that I'm asking for someone to do the game for me. That'd be rude.

I mean, you could do the code, but considering my general skills with art and design, that would be the equivalent of me transferring the project to you. So, advice would be nice.

But, if someone could waste some of their time on helping me nut out the RGS (such as how to make things shoot, and why the editor crashes after certain commands), it would be... greatly appreciated. Though all I can offer is credit in the game. And, as mentioned in my thread, the adoration of a complete newbie.

Also, Hideous, as a matter of fact, I'm doing Cogs of Conflict. Though I'm not calling it that. Figured it was taken. And it's Gameboy. And I can't really sprite, either. Nothing that you couldn't do, I'm sure.

Sweet. Dig the 4-way shot style. And the sprites are very cute.

Wonderful Fife-ing, Fife-Master. It's never a real burning without Fifes, I always say. Or Pies. What say you, Valter?

And I'd like to remind you all that the Alchemist Guild's high quality Balloons are on sale in a wide variety of shapes and colours!

Humour me, for I am but a simple lad. WHAT IS THIS?
1626  Community / Bootleg Demakes / Re: Son of Romeo: the Dirty Times on: August 17, 2008, 04:02:25 AM
Holy Cow, a B-Make! With possibly the best name in the compo. Gotta play this.
1627  Community / Bootleg Demakes / Re: Sexy Seaside Beachball! on: August 17, 2008, 03:37:53 AM
Good luck it's too low res for that.
Having no noticeable graphical effect would make it even more hilarious.
Or adding "photography mode".

DO IT.

Don't really need to post this, as it ain't much. But I need to show SOMETHING. Been verr busy. Will this be finished? Unlikely. Not gonna stop me from trying.

Go me.

Postscripts: does "Deep Insect Kings" sound good to ya'll? Or maybe "Deep Insect Mans"? Or something else.

Post-Postscripts: RGS. It is good, but we have little idea of how to expand the game past a re-do of the tutorial. Because we're dense. Any help would be reciprocated with... love. AND CREDIT! Now that's a twofer, right there!

In other news, Gish struck me as charming rather than depressing! But, to each their own. And, yes, would like to see some sales figures from ye other developers. I think N+ did well, too (yay!).

I think it's spelled pretentious. Though, this doesn't sound pretentious. This sounds fun. Maybe we should pick it up.
1632  Player / General / Re: TIGSTWG IX: Witch Hunt! [INSERT COIN] on: August 17, 2008, 01:48:39 AM
Gainsworthy is... not taking this game off. As he is Intrigued.

As for my role, I am part of the Ballooner's Guild, having been inspired long ago by the legendary Balloonsmith, jstckr. As you surely know, We cater for all your Ballooning needs - be it Witch Balloons at your next Burning Event, or experimental flying transports.

I'd like to remind you all not to be fooled by spurious claims that our Hot-Aired Balloons are of anything less than the highest quality! Because they are. High Quality, that is.  Lips Sealed
1633  Developer / Design / Re: Weapon taxonomies in shooters on: August 17, 2008, 01:24:51 AM
Just to chip in, Timesplitters has a pretty varied, interesting weapon set. Especially the third one. A few pistols and sniper rifles could be a little samey, but on the whole, whacking great bunch of guns which did different things.
1634  Player / General / Re: So where you folks from? on: August 16, 2008, 06:22:42 AM
Wow, Melly's Brazilian. News to me. Looks like a nice (warm) place.

Also, extra hello to all my Australian comrades! Had no idea there were so many of us.  Beer!

 Beer!  Beer!  Beer!  Beer!

Epidemic.
1635  Player / General / Re: TIGSTWG VIII: Red Moon [DAY 5] on: August 16, 2008, 05:58:59 AM
An Idea.

Heh, I like that! Might take a little planning, and a large-ish number of people, but I think it could work. At the very least, it'd make for an interesting experiment in trust.

Though, the vouch system seems unwieldy. Unless the game is long, most people would remain outside, wouldn't they? And if people start dying when a new person is let in, that person would be killed off. Unless the wolves could traverse. But that could lead to problems...

ANYWAY, good idea, but needs thinking. I'm open to having you bounce ideas off me! Though, I'm not always helpful.

Garthy, I would be well up for a game hosted by you. Was considering ducking out of the next one, but I think you'd have something interesting/verbose to offer.

Finally, curse you Valter! You shattered me and jstckr's enormously fragile alliance by (with "help" from cyber) in ONE day. Plus, I only got to steal from agj. Fat lot of good that did me. Though, watching the game devolve into madness was fun. Also, go Team Werewolf. FIVE of you. Madness.
1636  Player / General / Re: Delusional nutjob threatened to kill me today. on: August 15, 2008, 08:56:02 PM
Yay!

EDIT: Oh, whilst I'm at it, I'd like to second Pacain's congratulations. Ain't many people I've seen who actively stand up to threatening bastards like that. Never been in the situation myself, but odds on, I wouldn't. And the abuse wasn't even directed at you! (Or, uh, so you thought.) Good to hear there are people like you still around.

Why haven't I learned to make games yet? This is exceptionally nice looking. In all ways. Hope you find someone!

Second on Love for the Cafe, too.
1638  Community / Bootleg Demakes / Re: Killer's System of Religious Belief on: August 15, 2008, 08:26:03 PM
I liked the real deal, actually! Kept me entertained. Though, I borrowed it off a friend, but, in retrospect, totally would've bought it. When it went down in price.

So, Baphomet, what's news on this?
1639  Community / Bootleg Demakes / Re: ROCK BOSHERS (working title) on: August 15, 2008, 08:19:42 PM
No idea what this is, but you used the word "BOSHERS". So it follows that this is going to be awesome.
1640  Community / Townhall / Re: The Obligatory Introduce Yourself Thread on: August 14, 2008, 03:53:46 AM
Holy Crap. CoolMoose. Runman Monster Fracas. I love that thing. The other Runman(s?) were fun, but, the Banjo music, and the smoothness, and the monster. Well heck, I like it. Alot.

EDIT: Also, I am always welcome to a new Metroidvania. Even though I'm somewhat against the portmanteau itself.
