And even with a publisher that has already published on Steam, you're not guaranteed to be able to bypass Greenlight.

I also thought that once you have a project selling, you can add other projects without greenlight. Or is it only people who got in Steam before Greenlight?

neither of those is true

But isn't it how Binding Of Isaac was first released on Steam?

BOI was released on Steam in September 2011. Greenlight was announced in July 2012.

What the hell? I haven't heard about this anywhere else! It's already at $7.7 million!

Maybe there's some way you could make an entire board with buttons or keys on it?
I think my suggestion is better since it natively integrates thumbsticks, with a pure keyboard a lot of "finger ressources" are already gone for directional controls.

I agree completely. A lack of buttons is what's holding back gaming from reaching its true potential.

60%? That's lower than I expected. Interesting.

Getting on Steam probably helps. Can you talk about how high a percentage of sales was from Steam?

No prob.

Yeah, I get that. I just prefer for each topic to have its own thread for archival purposes and digging up in the future. Especially in the Technical forum. To me, no question or discussion is "too small" to warrant its own thread in Technical (it's not like we're facing a shortage of new threads or something and have to economize with them -- and it's not like Technical is getting swamped with new threads either).

Asking technical questions in one huge-ass thread makes it a lot harder for other people to find the answer to those questions in the future (you can't search in thread titles, for example).

It could be really swell if Ouya 2 ever comes around in several years

Next year. They're releasing a new Ouya every year.

Just watched Space Odyssey again. The last third of the film was impenetrable

If you read Clarke's novel, everything makes perfect sense. 2010 the novel is also surprisingly good (definitely better than the movie).

Jesus. I'm on vacation in Japan and just saw this thread. I'm 34 just like Ryan Davis was, and I'm also recently-ish married. This really sucks. Along with Jeff Gerstmann, Ryan was the backbone of the podcast. It's gonna be really weird listening to it now.

Is there seriously some guy trying to sell an Ouya for $699? Facepalm
375  Player / Games / Re: Ouya - New Game Console? on: June 26, 2013, 10:34:44 AM
thought that was lols

I like this one:

376  Player / General / Re: Fight Thread Pollution! Post here if it's not worth a new thread!!! on: June 26, 2013, 07:08:12 AM
There have also been some recent high-profile kickstarters that use good 'ol isometric view: Shadowrun Returns and Project Eternity.

I'm doing it, but I'm using mouse-click to move for controls, so there's no issue of what pressing up does (the arrow keys just scroll the map).
378  Player / Games / Re: Ouya - New Game Console? on: June 25, 2013, 02:54:20 PM
Yes, that's the exact point I was making. They weren't denied access because they were wearing Ouya shirts. Which is why I was confused by what alastair said.
379  Player / Games / Re: Ouya - New Game Console? on: June 15, 2013, 09:45:56 AM
They could have just lied about their age...

I don't follow?
380  Player / Games / Re: Ouya - New Game Console? on: June 15, 2013, 04:17:38 AM
Or do you think that the whole thing was a PR stunt by Ouya?

Well, they're also outright lying, so what do you think?

Sorry, that page doesn’t exist!

Thanks for noticing—we're going to fix it up and have things back to normal soon.

Yeah, they've since deleted the tweet. It was a picture of a dude and his two kids wearing Ouya t-shirts and the tweet said that the ESA and cops had denied them entrance to E3 because they were wearing Ouya shirts, when the truth of course is that no kids below 17 are allowed into E3.

EDIT: Somebody saved a screenshot:
