it's impossible to disprove that "theory" because if you bring up a great game that didn't sell well they'd just say 'well it didn't sell well, so it couldn't have been great', and if you bring up a bad game that sold well they'd just say 'there has to be something great about that game or it wouldn't have sold so well'
That's the usual situation of people confusing profitability with quality. You see that a lot with other forms of media. Take movies, for example, where an specific movie can fail at the box office and then develop a cult following and be considered intrinsically good. Or art, where a certain artist can be ignored in its time and then be considered a genius by history. Uhm, isn't that the exact opposite of confusing profitability with quality?

I found it kinda funny that there weren't any big revelations in that dialogue, and that it just amounted to some casual standard operating procedure talk.

Where are the other III megasons... It's not roman numeral 4, it's I.V. in that you plug it directly into a vein...

OpenGL FBOs... But what's hard about them? I just seem to always run into trouble when using them. Currently, I'm having a weird problem where an unrelated texture gets messed up when the FBO is bound. I can draw the texture to the screen with no problem before binding the FBO, but when I try to draw it to the FBO, it's seemingly been cleared with the glClear(GL_COLOR_BUFFER_BIT) call I use on the FBO! I first thought that the image bound to the FBO had the same texture name as the unrelated texture, for some reason, but checking their names shows that's not the case.

Amazon says, 599 US DOLLARSSony from 2007 has called, they want their arrogance back Retailers always put in high preorder prices before the actual price has been revealed. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if the price does end up in that neighborhood.

So they expect this thing to sell anywhere from 6 to 14 times the number of Xbox 360s sold? Seriously, what the hell has Microsoft been smoking?

It's like they specifically designed this presentation to not appeal to me. I don't care about watching TV through my Xbox -- I can already do that on my TV. I don't care about sports and racing games nor Call of Duty. I don't want to control my console with my voice and waving my arms. I don't care about SmartGlass. And I don't care about a Halo TV series. From a gaming perspective, the PS4 seems to have this beat. If I were to buy a new console, I'd probably dump my Xbox and get a PS4 instead. Sony presented a much wider variety of games and features as well as better indie support. I'm pretty disappointed with this new Xbox. EDIT: Actually, the feedback on the controller sounds pretty interesting. If they add support for this in future 360 games, I'll probably just end up getting the new controller.
