This game is one of my favorite psx rpgs by far, even though gameplay wise is not that good. Sad thing is that every time I tried to replay it, I got stuck on that part where you ride a snail. Maybe I got a bad cd I dunno. It would be great you could have the visuals of 4 and the combat of 3 in the same game. In my humble opinion, I think if that were the case it would have smashed FF7 into the ground. pls don't talk about ff otherwise you're gonna wake up graham (But I agree it would be far better than ff7.) Summon the beast!

If you're working on backgrounds or large solid images, use photoshop, 'cause aseprite can't zoom out past the 1 to 1 range. At least I think so.
MS Paint 7 is actually really great for large backgrounds.

I'm using Aseprite for no other reason than that I settled into a working groove pretty quickly. Color picking and blending requires you know actually know your colors though, so I guess it's great for practice.
I guess I should force myself to use that then.

Digimon World 3 might be the first game to ever pull of 2D sprites on a pre-rendered background. Breathe of Fire 4 is also beautiful.

Paint.NET doesn't even support indexed images does it?
I'm pretty sure it doesn't because it royally fucks up bitmaps saved on Paint.

In my opinion Paint.NET is better for pixelart compared to Photoshop, it supports animations through plugins as well.
Iv'e actually always been really comfortable with Pain.net. The only thing that bugs me is that there isn't a transparency option similar to MS Paint, where you secondary color selection is a opaque matte.

Developer / Art / Pixel art in Photoshop?

I recently got a new computer loaded with the adobe suite cs5 and am eager to finally graduate from MS Paint. A lot of pixel artists I admire use Photoshop, which I know my way around when editing photos, but not making art from scratch.
Are there any tutorials you'd recommend when making pixel art in PS? I'd mainly like to know how to best situate the interface/tools when working in pixels. Perhaps a list of handy plug-ins related to 8bit art?

Someone should remake Vanilla Sky without Tom Cruise and better music.

Breath of Fire 4 has the nicest design. I'm playing a ton of PSX games from my childhood, Heart of Darkness and Digimon World mostly. So much poop in Digimon world.....
