He's a beginner and he probably doesn't fit in Pixelation OR Pixeljoint.
yes, a beginner has no place getting advice from talented artists who actually know what they're talking about why would you ever want an expert to give you advice i want stupid idiots who dont know anything about basic concepts of art to explain to me how to draw things Would you play a game you have never played before on the hardest difficulty? If it's going to be his FIRST time, how do you think he will fare in such a forum? Sure it's a really good place for critique but there are some techniques they use there (dithering especially in Pixelation) that may be too much for a first-timer. I think the Spriters Resource is pretty good to noobies (let's not forget he's a noob). There are good critics there like Gors, C2B, YOU, uhm.. who else, Alpha Six? you know, more people. Not saying it's bad to get expert critique, it's just, maybe he will be overwhelmed by it with being his first time and all. Although, there's nothing wrong with.. registering on EVERY site and getting critique from all kinds of places.

Super Metroid when the baby comes to save you.
Shadow of the Colossus every time you kill one.
Dino Crisis when the thing with the cutscene, and the parents, and the time travel, you know.

i once had a rotating sword up my ass.. it traumatized me for the rest of my life There's some kind of noise that goes on the sprite (I rotated and kind of cleaned up) but I can't seem to find a way to undo that noise (maybe because it has an outline) any ideas guys? EDIT: @Elk - what do you mean create a small eclipse? I tried adding a sin-wave motion to her hair that starts at the top of her head and goes down. Then I added a wobble to the sword and gave it a bit of shine. I hope you don't mind me playing around with that. xD; Hey, it may help you on your quest. That is amazing! I love what you did with the hair I will definitely try it sometime but right now I don't really understand it too well to do it. (I only realized while looking at your animation that the top of the hair is supposed to be included in the wave, not just the bottom which I did) Here's something I did with what I've learned from your edit

<snip> uhm, i dunno.
Not pixel work unless you do this huh? Same question. I guess it's not pixel art unless you scale the pixels up? I've been doing it wrong this whole time. D: Cellusious and Delicious have spoken. I don't really understand what Quarry did as well. He kind of like, low-res'd it for some reason. EDIT: based on Quarry's criteria, almost NONE of the work in this thread is pixel art! :O

Player / General / Sleep?

Okay, not sure if you guys have a thread about this or not but anyway here we go.
How much sleep do you get on average everyday?
I go to university 4 times a week and I get like 6 hours of sleep from 12 mn to 6 am and I sleep like an average of 2-3 hours in the middle of the day (in between classes) but when I have weekends I just sleep till I wake up naturally.
I thought, how do you manage your sleeping time? I can't really sleep earlier than like 10 pm but I have to wake up at 5 or 6 in the morning so this is kind of troubling (thank God for afternoon naps)

He's a beginner and he probably doesn't fit in Pixelation OR Pixeljoint. I'd suggest The Spriters ResourceIt has a pretty good community that will help you if you're dedicated to your work. Here's a pretty good place too anyway there are a lot of experienced pixel artists here

Shouldn't YOU know the most important computer virus is? Because.. you're kind of making a game about it. How do we know the history of something we don't know? Do we just google it? Tell us which virus it is. If you have no idea which is the most important virus, how are you still making a game about it?

@Medevenx: Well the sprite is hundreds of times better than the original (in my opinion) and looks like your style now, but I agree, the animation overall is stiff. I had to actually look at the frames one by one to notice you animated the arm. Just from looking at the animation playing, I thought you only copy pasted it and moved it around each frame. It's definitely moving in the right direction, keep it up. As far as the sword, I can't give any advice on that since I don't animate swords (or animate in general) but from what I've seen of other pixel artists, I'd agree, some kind of rotation with massive amounts of cleanup. As much as I hate to use Jump Ultimate Stars as a reference, it does get the point across here (barely); I've slowed the animation down but notice how the sword changes slightly in every frame? That's the effect I think you want. Also a good think to take away from this is how the hand (in the back at least) changes in every frame. Small details like this are the reason it's important to redraw frame by frame, so I really can't stress that enough. I kind of wanted an effect like this ^ I don't really see any hand change in that Ichigo animation but I'll try to do it with mine. Thanks for that. Although I think I've fixed the hair now.

The delete button should be beside the and [Modify] buttons. Not sure if it applies to threads though I only know it applies to posts.
Anyway, why would you want your pixel art to be bigger? Do you mean like, scaling? 4x scale is pretty huge. 2x scale is kind of enough but it really depends on what you want. You can try to have all your spritework in Paint and hit Ctrl+W and set the percentage of the new size to 400% or 200% or whatever. As long as it's in multiples of 100%
