363  Player / General / Re: Something you JUST did thread on: June 17, 2012, 09:00:48 PM
trig is probably the math i use the most

well, aside from basic arithmetic and algebra

what about geometry (basic shapes)? you pretty much use Algeb Geom and Trig everywhere (cept Calc maybe)

anyway, just got off class and have a 5 hour break until the next one. gotta sleep

This kind of feels offensive when they spoke about 8-bit pixel art..
365  Developer / Collaborations / Re: How do you acquire a dream team? on: June 17, 2012, 03:40:09 AM
I guess the problem is that I did actually decide to participate in someone's game project and they, like you, made a crappy-yet-finished game. it was called super smash flash. if you played it, I pity you. if you never did, it was a crap game. it was very buggy, very unbalanced, but could have been better if more time had been invested in it.

after its release, the creator went to town making the sequel, which he promised would be better in every way and blah blah blah. all of the artwork was to be ripped from exiting games or created by people who barely had an understanding of ms paint. despite the developer team being 20+ people strong, the new game was still under construction 2 years in and didn't even have any improvements over the old version save for having better art. Although I had stopped animating for the team for a while, I completely withdrew myself from the project after it was declared "20%" done. Now 4 years into production, the game still isn't done.

I've been in and out of the SSF2 development team and I don't recall your presence in the game development (unless you changed your name or something) but the sequel is definitely much better, the gameplay is very polished compared to the previous. I don't know where you got that stuff from.

Any game can take years, but even if it took you X years to finish if it's still awesome it will be your legacy. (Iji, Cave Story, Saturated Dreamers) because you worked on it so long not because you suck but because you wanted everything to be how you wanted it to be)

Also, about teaming up with people, it's not always about what YOU want, it's about what each person wants that's best for the group.
366  Developer / Art / Re: Finding a 3D artist for "next gen" 3D game. on: June 16, 2012, 05:57:14 PM
shouldn't this be in Collabs?
367  Player / General / Re: Fight Thread Pollution! Post here if it's not worth a new thread!!! on: June 16, 2012, 05:53:33 PM
I pretty much have the art style down (they have a concept artist working with me) and I can pretty much do the animations. It's not that I don't like the style, I just not totally in to the things I'm drawing. (RPG Slimes wtf)

They plan to post it on kongregate where we can get money and I will be with them when people from the gaming industry come to look at the finished projects (good + for me if they were fascinated by the art direction)

Also, you guys know very well it's much difficult to get a programmer on the net (especially since I'm not too known here either) that wants to make a game without pay. I chose this team because their college was a cross away from the university I study.

I just noticed, remove the perspective on the computer's table it doesn't fit the rest. (unless it actually gets wider at one end)
369  Developer / Art / Re: Mockups, or the "Please say this is going to be a game" thread on: June 16, 2012, 05:38:25 PM
Solar those remind me of my dick, which is also visually pleasing

371  Developer / Audio / Re: Show us some of your music! on: June 16, 2012, 02:50:33 AM
Solarlune those tracks are fresh man.. Mind I ask what program do you use? and, do you write the music on paper first? Or just go straight to the pc and dish it

man, talk about PK tl:dr lol

#11: Putting it on paper lets you start fixing it. If it stays in your head, a perfect idea, you'll never share it with anyone.

This can also mean for design docs.

Did anyone post Action Fist yet?

Video

The graphics could've still been better but the gameplay was fantastic! I enjoyed co-op so much all my friends and family members played this game. (I hope it gets a remake with better graphics or a sequel)

I enjoyed the color matching system (despite me being color blind and having difficulty with the yellows and greens)

It was probably frowned upon because of the pixel art
374  Developer / Art / Re: The evolution of 8-Bit art. (video) on: June 16, 2012, 02:15:46 AM
Halfway through the video, why are they showing pixel art that ISN'T 8-bit?
375  Player / General / Re: TIGSauce's most epic posts on: June 16, 2012, 02:11:12 AM
Well what about Iji? THAT took 4 years to make. Considering each one of those game devs did all the work by themselves (including music)
376  Player / General / Re: Fight Thread Pollution! Post here if it's not worth a new thread!!! on: June 16, 2012, 01:44:11 AM
but i can't make my own game.. i was thinking i scratch their back they'll scratch mine.
377  Player / General / Re: Fight Thread Pollution! Post here if it's not worth a new thread!!! on: June 15, 2012, 11:19:31 PM
it's about animes and stuff

i accepted the role because i figured it might be good for my portfolio

If it's not something you want to be associated with in the future, consider this with valor in your heart.

i just want the recognition of "hey that guy made the art for this game"

even though i'm not very interested in making the game at all.. (probably because i want to make the game I WANT TO) but since i don't have a team and they're a team, if you can't beat them join them?  Shrug

and maybe after this we can make MY GAME this time
378  Player / General / Re: Fight Thread Pollution! Post here if it's not worth a new thread!!! on: June 15, 2012, 10:58:38 PM
so i got picked up for this game as the main graphics guy and

there is no pay, it's for THEIR university project, it's about animes and stuff that i don't really like. i have all the references and design docs i need to make the graphics

i accepted the role because i figured it might be good for my portfolio
379  Developer / Workshop / Re: an indecipherable pattern on: June 15, 2012, 07:53:14 PM
if you're going to have some kind of programmed lighting and shadowing, then you don't really need that shadow you sprited along the walls
380  Developer / Art / Re: show us some of your pixel work on: June 15, 2012, 07:27:08 PM
@Delicious - Cool monsters.
@Veo - Ha, cool evolved version of the same monster.

Cross-post from mockups thread.

I might need to make a game out of this - I really like the tiles and style.

EDIT: Gah, that stray pixel at the left. NOOOooOOoOooOo!
