Try posting in the Collaborations subforum. You're likely to assemble a team quicker. Good luck!

My friend Damon is making a short film that is in good need of fundraising. It actually sounds like an interesting premise.

I saw Zardoz.

It broke me.

Maybe it was the pot (lots of it), but I thought the story and setting were surprisingly good. Not great, but surprisingly good.
I remember I particularly liked the way Zardoz, killed by Zed at the very beginning, comes back as a recording/AI to somehow instruct Zed, with no recollection of his death. Pity it was only for a while.

Yesterday I watched Altered States with friends. We were disappointed, not particularly funny or interesting, just stupid in a really boring way.
I still don't know what to think of it all. Possibly the strangest movie I've ever seen. And I've seen LOTS of movies. I thought Altered States was decent enough to warrant a watch.

Jiro Dreams of Sushi.
That's an incredible doc.

Thomas Was Alone is absolutely delightful.

It's been about 5 years since I've played it, but I remember Ark 22 being pretty good.

Just started Cloud Atlas. Extremely interesting so far.

Just started playing Thomas Was Alone and I'm loving absolutely everything about it. If it keeps this quality up I might just stick it in my Top 20 Games ever.

I sent you a message about it. Sounds intriguing!

Hi!

I listened to a lot of your stuff and I quite like it! I'd be interested to see you try something really dramatic.

Here's hoping we can work together on something. Cheers!

Oh, and I'm a male.

Well hot dog, I must have been completely misinformed. Thank you! I'll get that fixed as soon as I can.
12  Developer / Business / Several Job Openings at thatgamecompany on: April 22, 2013, 11:31:44 AM
If you don't know who they are (and you should), they are the creators of flOw, Flower, and Journey.

I just read on thatgamecompany's Facebook that they're looking for a Systems Engineer, although there are more openings on the site, such as Art Engineer and Server Engineer:

From "Systems Engineer"

Quote
We are a small studio dedicated to crafting unique and high quality interactive experiences, and we are looking for someone to join our team to work with us on our custom engine and other lower-level systems. The goal in this role is to build a stable foundation that is highly-tuned for the level of stunning visuals and technical achievements that helped define our last game, Journey.
The new challenge with our next venture is for us to branch out and develop for multiple platforms after having created three games exclusively for a single platform. Ideally, we’re looking for talent that appreciates tackling the juicy low level problems inherent in developing a game with demanding technical performance requirements across multiple platforms.
This role requires a candidate who:
Is fluent in C++
Has a strong track record of programming, either on your own or as part of a small team
Has a keen and demonstrable interest in low-level programming and game engine optimization
Has a desire to contribute to the growth and maturation of the medium of video games
You will be more likely to enjoy this job if you:
Prefer the dynamics of a small studio environment
Have a mindset for prioritizing your own tasks based on the needs of the game
Have a desire to tackle complex challenges and come up with unconventional solutions
Aren’t secretly trying to be a game designer or gameplay engineer

Metro 2033 was one of the most resonant FPS's I'd ever played and that got mixed reviews across the board.

Has anyone else played Ghost Trick for the DS? I just beat it and it was absolutely incredible. One of the most inventive narratives I've ever played through.
Agreed. The animation was really pretty, too.
Seconded. I had a hard time believing that it wasn't 3D animation.
