Oh wait, so bad that they put me off of the series completely?

FFXII - watching the computer fight was not so fun.
NWN2 - it seemed too big and empty for itself. I dunno.
Diablo 2... maybe. Adopting a wait'n'see attitude about D3. But I really hated those jungle midgets, and I dunno, maybe just frantic clicking isn't appealing to me any more.

Prince of Persia: Warrior Within. The only thing it got right over its prequel was letting you run away from most of the fights.

Real men don't know how to run away from a fight.

I believe Phubans is an important subject for your next topic.

I felt this game did not have enough potato.  Shrug

I watched the clip, didn't play. I thought it needed walls, or some kind of floor detail, and maybe a level editor? I dunno, I was watching it and thinking it would be neat to make some levels for.

Kay, I tried this, but it didn't work.

What kind of shark? (I used tiger.)

Is there an uncensored version of this rant?

While it involves reworking your backgrounds, instead of superimposing a grid, you could cut the level up with rows of trenches. Just a thought Smiley

IGF 2012 shoo-in. Amazing!

Seriously though, sound effects would've been better with something at higher freq mixed in to glitch up.

The score/gold system is broken between matches, so I couldn't get past the first level. Ohhh, I see, I'm supposed to click on the numerical points as they float up from the enemy corpse. Along with that limitation, your resolution is just big enough that it doesn't fit nicely on my screen(vertically), though that doesn't cut off enough of the viewing area to be unplayable. The menu button is broken.

Graphics are very nicely done. Feels obviously like a PvZ clone, but there's nothing wrong with that.

A quick splash screen of how to play would've been nice, though it was easy enough to pick up. (And would've saved me a post edit or two.) Smiley

I echo iggie's complaint, if not to the degree. It can be difficult to eyeball what row the orcs are coming in, and visually nonsensical that the units can't move. Maybe put them in little one-man-sized forts/towers?

Difficulty seems unforgiving. It's not too hard, but a single misplaced knight, given the comparatively long recharge time, can spell death, which means I have to start the entire level again.

Losing access to previously bought units sucks. It also hurts that some units are both numerically limited, as well as eat into my precious place-new-guy timer.

I think the instant move resolution is detrimental. I'd rather see some time take place between when you start a move and when it resolves (piece slides over the board instead of teleporting to position). It's not an RTS, it's more like an I(nstant)TS.

It's pretty hilarious though!

It is gorgeous. Nicely done.

Thrusting my laptop up at some anonymous port in a wall in public doesn't strike me as a good idea. I have no idea what's in it and if it's safe.

Well, I won't be dead, but good luck with it, and I hope it really works out for you.

The shower seems to be the magic place where I come up with solutions to most programming problems.

There's just something about glistening, na--

Er, yes, this for me too.

Finally got around to trying this today... Really fun!

Shooting seemed to be fine! The targeting laser is really needed and well-placed. The driving felt a little awkward, reminded me of playing Mass Effect. The tank seemed to go a little faster, it just didn't feel like tanks should accelerate so fast and bounce around and stuff. Smiley

The terrain(procedural?) seemed a little too hilly, I even got stuck one time wedged in between a slope and a crystal rock formation.

I approve of the font used in the game, as opposed to that screenshot up above Smiley

This looks amazing. And looks like it will require an amazing attention to detail and micromanagement.

shouldn't those galaxies really be spinning the other way?

They're in Australia, I think.

DN3D.

The Build tool was so fun. Learned a lot from it, I think.

RL's been an utter bitch this month, and I won't finish today.  CryHand Thumbs Down Right

I will finish it though. I'm actually rather enamoured of the idea. May even commercialize it(Who, Me?), dunno, I'll see where I get with it. Look for it in devlogs sometime in the next two weeks...
