Thinking about it, I guess it's partly because I'm using the wrong tools, since I have separate programs for making the actual frames and saving animated .gifs.

I suggest investing in the full version of Graphicsgale.

Also I just played Orechasm with some others. It's eerie how much it reminds me of what I wanted Subterrane to be- I honestly believe that's what the perfect end product of Subterrane was going to be.

The fact that I'm breaking a rule that only people in the know will really care about is less important to me than making something that everyone can enjoy (this might be the wrong place to say that!!)

I think it's pretty and I like the guy's style, I was just pointing out the parts that made it 'not pure pixel art' by a lot of website's standards.

He's also using gradients/glows- tools not forcing you to place individual pixels.

I don't mean to be condescending or mean, but... If you have all this creative energy and you want to MAKE something, why do you just work off an existing mythos? Why not create your own creature? Slenderman is becoming almost as played out as zombies, with much less reason.

Life is purposeless. I don't see why that makes it not worth living. There are things we do that give us enjoyment, so why not spend our life doing those things, or at least enabling others to do so through altruism? There is no 'why' to existence apart from that which you discover yourself.
