make sure you use the same palette as the characters he's done, to help with consistency

You CAN distribute a standalone (captive AIR) runtime without requiring AIR on the end system. No catches.
Ah! This is good.

I would like to see some benchmarks regarding the speed of AIR, though.
365  Developer / Technical / Re: C#, C++ or Actionscript? on: April 30, 2012, 03:58:07 AM
well its more like, I tried to give my little android AIR game to a few friends, and they had to download the AIR runtime as well, why can't that be packaged with the game? or can it?

And also it's pretty crap to have to install AIR for a shortform downloadable thing. Of course, you could just make it online, but maybe there is a feature of AIR that you need?

I dunno, I just think its an annoying obstacle.

Trouble with air is the end-user having to install the runtime (like .net), unless they have fixed this?

If I want to talk to a spanish person that has a less-than-perfect grasp of english, i'm not gonna go ahead and learn spanish. It's fine to just take the slight discomfort of speaking in english and not waste any time.

I like that analogy, no matter how irrelevant it is.

moral of the story? make games.

The Misadventures of Tron Bonne (just had a peek at it's wikipedia page to make sure it WAS underrated)

My god there was so much depth in this game it was incredible. I wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone.

I only found out it was a megaman spin off years after I'd played it Smiley

I'm not really sure what to do with it.
make games
374  Developer / Creative / Re: So what are you working on? on: April 26, 2012, 11:53:22 AM
just make the game. after you finish this one then make another. you will find that the art, gameplay and music (if you choose to make any) will be better in your second game.

make 10 more games.

then more

376  Developer / Art / Re: Mockups, or the "Please say this is going to be a game" thread on: April 25, 2012, 02:06:18 PM
oh my word THATS how you use vectors.,;'#'[]'#';'

man you have such a perfect eye for visual design
377  Developer / Art / Re: Mockups, or the "Please say this is going to be a game" thread on: April 25, 2012, 12:52:57 PM
Try it in vectors! Being pixellated is only hurting that image.
378  Developer / Art / Re: pickle - pixel editor on: April 24, 2012, 12:31:33 PM
No line drawing tool, but the workflow is very nice. With more features (dithering? i love dithering) it could replace what I use (gimp ugh)
