You CAN distribute a standalone (captive AIR) runtime without requiring AIR on the end system. No catches.
Ah! This is good. I would like to see some benchmarks regarding the speed of AIR, though.

well its more like, I tried to give my little android AIR game to a few friends, and they had to download the AIR runtime as well, why can't that be packaged with the game? or can it?
And also it's pretty crap to have to install AIR for a shortform downloadable thing. Of course, you could just make it online, but maybe there is a feature of AIR that you need?
I dunno, I just think its an annoying obstacle.

If I want to talk to a spanish person that has a less-than-perfect grasp of english, i'm not gonna go ahead and learn spanish. It's fine to just take the slight discomfort of speaking in english and not waste any time.
I like that analogy, no matter how irrelevant it is.
moral of the story? make games.

just make the game. after you finish this one then make another. you will find that the art, gameplay and music (if you choose to make any) will be better in your second game.
make 10 more games.
then more

No line drawing tool, but the workflow is very nice. With more features (dithering? i love dithering) it could replace what I use (gimp ugh)
