Hey everyone!
I guess it's time to introduce myself in the thread! I'm Woody, nice to meet you Gentleman
I'm working part time with Quadratron on Threshold as a level designer. To me, the levels are a showcase for all the weird little things that the game can do. Smashing them together in different and fun ways!

I'm also making a little bit of music here and there. Experimenting with different sounds and textures. It might not be the music that's used in the final game but will definitely give us a clearer look at what we might want in the future for the aural feel for the game.

I'll be posting an introductory level design post here in little bit. Going forward I hope to do more.
As for music those will come much fewer and further between but keep an eye out!

Check back with you all soon!!!  Smiley

Maybe check out nycgameindustry.com they usually post about game related events going on around the city.
Also, Babycastles is pretty rad. I think they have a show going on tomorrow. Punk and chip stuff.
It's an art gallery /show space/indie arcade. You should definitely check it out.

Sounds awesome!

I will be in NYC from May 30th through June 2nd; will I get the chance to catch the exhibit? I sure hope so! Wish there was more going on while I'm over there xD

You will definitely be able to catch it. Head over to winnitron.ca/new-york/ they put up the exact address on the NYU Game Center and all that good stuff.

As for Philly game loop, it is supposed to be small but I know that they just opened up another set of tickets since the first small batch sold out. If you aren't far it might be worth it to go. Smiley

Guys! It was freaking amazing!
I am mad that I didn't really get a chance to meet any of you in person.
The exhibit is up for a month and we are going to keep the Winnitron NYC there too... at least until the end of the exhibit.

There is a ton of stuff going on in the next couple weeks around this area though:
Blip Fest 2011  5/19-5/21
Babycastles Game Jam 5/13-5/15
Babycastles Brooklyn opening 5/17
Philly Game Loop 5/21

Maybe people can just gather around the Winnitron around 915 and we can try to get a group together to go out afterwards and get drinks? Also, I would love to check out Barcade since I have never been there.

The thing on the site says until 9 but I assume it will go a bit later. If people are going to hang out afterwards then I might try to come back a little later and play the Winnitron for a bit.  Hand Any Key Lips Sealed Hand Joystick

We spent enough time working on the damned thing now I want to play it!

Right on. When you exit the Port Authority bus terminal go to 40th street and make a left (the direction of traffic)
Walk down 1 1/2 blocks to Broadway and make a left.
halfway down there should be the Times Sq - 42 St Station

Take the N or R train towards Brooklyn and get off at the 8 street stop that I mentioned before. Smiley easy

still considering going. i tend to get lost in NYC though when i go there alone, so are there any directions to there via subway? i tried google maps and all they had was car directions, and i don't have a car.

Where are you going to be coming from?
The subway stop is 8 Street NYU on the N or R line.
From the subway stop you walk one block south, once you cross Waverly it is the first building on the right.

We will be unveiling the Winnitron NYC at this event! Glad that they are letting us show it along side all these rad games.

I'll be there.  Are you going to be back in NYC for it?  Can't wait to see what Ramiro has in store for us.

I'm also hearing rumors of a mysterious Nidhogg reappearance at this year's event.

I will be there. Hopefully I will be there to present New York with a gift.
Anyone presenting a game?

Hey check this out.
You will be happy to know that the crowd enjoyed your game. Unfortunately the game runs a bit slow on the laptop powering this thing but actually people seemed to like the slower pace.

Hope you like it

> Bears & Chairs

A room full of bears are playing musical chairs, which can only wind up in mortal combat when it goes down to the last chair. Either use a betting system, fighting system, or mini-game system when the bears go 1v1, but with a large group of people it could be very fun.

I am late to this thread but I love this idea. I just want to throw in on this if that is okay... in my head I see the 1v1 as two xbox controllers wrapped in fur and being repeatedly beat with fist until the final bear gets his or her chair.  Hand Any Key
Also I imagine that the other players could still fight it out in the background just for kicks.

Also, two sticks could make for a fun "bear walking upright" mechanic.

Okay, I am done.
