1  Community / Townhall / Ball & Cones : Tilt-based Soccer Dribbling Game [released] on: June 12, 2014, 07:43:54 AM

After 3 months of development, today I released my first game. There are so many things to improve, but feels really good to have something out there. Scary too.

tldr: Soccer themed arcade game. Perfect game takes 60 seconds. Tilt mechanics on a physics-accurate ball. Dodge the cones and win.

Ball & Cones is a micro game that you can win in 60 seconds. Tilt the phone side to side to control a soccer ball as it moves through a field full of cones. Hitting any of the cones brings you back to the beginning. The farther down the field you go, the faster the action gets and the more difficult it becomes to dodge the infuriating cones. To play this game, you need to focus your full attention for the entire 60 seconds that takes to win.

There are many medals to get as you get closer and closer to the goal. Once you reach the goal line--something only a few will ever do--you earn the Golden Cup. So, when the games in the World Cup get a little boring, pull out your phone for a quick adrenaline rush, and a chance to get a cup for yourself.

Ball & Cones is available for free in the Apple App Store starting on June 12. This is the first game from the one-man-shop, 432am.

Hi everyone!

My name is Silvio and I've been programming for as long as I can remember, which either says something about my memory or about my age. Either way, the last time I made a game, I was still programming in QBASIC and the Internet was still unknown. As I grew up, I focused more on *serious* (i.e. boring) programming and forgot all about how much fun and difficult it is to make a game. Now, I'm decided to rediscover this art, and hopefully I have progressed from QBASIC Gorillas clones.

Some of the games that I loved when growing up are Sim City 2000 and Myst. I wasn't very good at FPS, so even tho I appreciated the skills involved, I never really picked them up.

Thanks for reading!
