Title: Football CCG (working title)
Type: European Football + Trading Card Game
Gameplay: I'd like to use the "Triple Triad" rules from final fantasy VIII, but trying to add something to make it feel more complex.
Card types: There will certainly be the Football Players cards, i'm not sure about implementing other cards.
Deck size: i think i will follow the classic Triple Triad rules. So you will have to choose the players before starting the match.

So how does this works:

Basic rules:
You start with 5 cards. The game is played on a 3x3 card grid, and the objective is to own more cards than your opponent at the end of the game.

Cards:
Each card has 4 rank numbers on it. These are the abilities of the player. The one on the top is the "Attack" ability, the one on the bottom is the "Defense ability, the one on the left is the "Tactical" ability and the one on the right is the "Physical" ability. These skills range from 1-10, and they can be increased or decreased with the coach and club powerups.

Claiming Cards:
When a card is placed adjacent to a card already in play, the ranks of the sides that touch are checked. if the placed cards has the higher value the card that was already in play is claimed.
Example:

The blue card is stronger on the right (5) than the left of the red card (1) so the blue one win the fight.

More details coming soon.

I've decided to start with Python. I've found this book: http://inventwithpython.com/index.html and i think it's a pretty good introduction to programming. I've already understood the basic functions of this programming language and at the moment i'm at chapter 9 (which i find a little too difficult.). So i think i will practice again with the other chapters before going on.

Hi guys. I'm a 19-years old boy, who always wanted to become a video-game developer. Unfortunately, i live in Italy which, in my opinion, is not one of the best country in game-developing. I've also tried a few times to learn programming by myself, but i always think that is too difficult for me or just a waste of time. Then in 2009 i found this awesome community and i started developing games using the tools: Multimedia Fusion and Construct. It has been fun, but i think that if i use only these programs i will never learn anything new. In the last month i found a thread on a forum (http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=870) in which a boy wanted to learn how to draw and by posting on the forum and getting suggestions by others members in 4 years he reached his objective. I'd like to reach MY objective, but I need your help.
My first question is: “What's the first programming language you've studied?”
The second one: “Do you know any tutorial/books which can help me at learning it?”

Thank you for your help.

P.S. I'm sorry for my bad english. I dont' know if this is the right board.

One word: "EPIC!!!".

Gameplay:
Inspirations:

  • Dungeon Defenders
  • Castle Crushers

The gameplay will be pretty simple. You will fight in one of the X arenas, each of these with a different scenery and different enemies. The objective is to survive to multiple waves of enemies and defeat the final boss. By fighting the enemies you will found objects and gain xp.  The stronger you'll become the harder it will be to defeat the enemies, but you will also gain a better equipment. All the weapons and armors will be randomly generated.

Graphic:
Inspirations:

I think that a simple colorful graphic will be the best choice. I'll add some graphical animation to make it look cooler.

Sound and Music:

Still thinking about it. I think i'll use some Retro music.
