There's nothing indie about "Stand By Me"

sing me some Deerhoof

Both are fun in different ways. Co-op with competitive elements can be pretty fun, too... really, multiplayer of any type floats my boat (not to mention it's responsible for about 90% of the gaming I do anymore).

a picture is worth a thousand words

unfortunately for jwk5, a thousand words to icycalm is child's play
Best post.

R.I.P. Trish Keenan of Broadcast. Sad I never got around to listening to this band as much as I wanted to.

Captain COmic was one of the first computer games I ever played. I was 7 or 8 I think. I never got far, but I remember watching my brother beat the game once.

There's also a Captain Comic 2
I knew there was a reason the Moonkeeper reminded me of Captain Comic.

Anyway, Captain Comic was one of the first games I played too, and I still like it a lot; I think it's got some pretty cool aspects even detached from my nostalgia for it. I like the graphics and the sort of free-roaming aspect. I play it every now and again but I've actually never beat it. Much like Metroid.

Well, on the same theme, the moon is an asshole.

We had that one already: Majora's Mask (unless you're thinking of a different one).
Oh, no, that's what I was thinking of. Embarrassed

Listen to Merzbow on headphones and all your problems will go away.

Does anyone like fruitcake?

The sun is an asshole.
Super Mario Bros 3
Haha, nice one.

Noyb -- Link's Awakening was spot-on. Your answer was awesome for the shape-shifting one, but it's actually another game for the game boy.
Haha, is it Kirby?

Speaking of samples, here's another opinion: Girl Talk is mediocre and overhyped.
I don't think it's fair to say he's mediocre. He's very skilled at what he does, he just happens to pull samples almost exclusively from songs I don't like.

That sort of sampling is not good sampling in my book. I appreciate that he relied completely on samplers to create his music, but the end result could have been easily made without all that hassle. Not only that, but the end result is unremarkable.
But DJ Shadow is your favorite DJ savior. Sad

I prefer DJ Shadow to most sample artists because while his use of samples is obviously less hyperactive and technically impressive than many people's, it's more artful. Endtroducing is a timeless piece of art, not a series of gimmicks.

I agree that Daft Punk isn't super great. In addition to how blatant their sample use is, their vocals/lyrics are sometimes really annoying. But then, they've also got stuff like "Da Funk" and "Short Circuit" which are downright brilliant to me.

The force due to gravity between two objects is proportional to the product of the masses of the objects divided by the square of the distance between them or something like that... and if you're dropping, say, an apple, you can divide its mass out of both sides of the equation, since force is also equal to mass times acceleration, and then you just plug in the acceleration (measured) and the mass of the earth and the distance (which can be approximated as the earth's radius, if I'm not mistaken) and you'll be able to solve for the correction value, which is big G. Or maybe I'm crazy!

What was the last book you read?

I don't really watch much in the way of anime (more because I've never pursued it than because I'm not interested in it), but it's obvious even to me that there's a broad spectrum of art styles, so even disliking them all on grounds of the art style shows a bit of a lack of effort in my opinion.

Lack of effort? Perhaps you missed the point in my post where I said I've watched a ton of different animes.
I wasn't talking about you; I was talking about people who dismiss all anime because they hate the art style, which I didn't think was one of your reasons.

Of course, if one really did try out every anime ever and hated every individual art style, that'd be different.

I honestly don't know what the popular consensus is on that movie, I just know that I don't like it very much. It's pretty entertaining though, it's not boring like The Return of the King or Pirates of the Caribbean 3 or something. But it is the same caliber of film, in my books.

I dunno, I haven't really watched any Star Trek after the Next Generation stuff. Is it any good?
Not really, but isn't TNG itself a reboot?

I know this might be old news to some of you, but this article is fucking hilarious.

"Is YOUR Son a Computer Hacker?"
This is a joke, right? It seems like one, at least after you read his other articles.
