What purpose do boobs serve in a fighting game? Only to titilate.
And you're calling other people immature, geez. I find that word very offensive.

Local multiplayer floats my boat. Most of the console gaming I do is local multiplayer; it's a very enjoyable social experience for me.
I also agree with what Mr. Sinclair said about certain RPGs and strategy games being poorly adjusted for consoles. To me games that have slow, precise gameplay - and also games that are heavily sound oriented, like Thief - should be played on the PC, because we're used to doing slower, more precise things on PCs and faster-paced things on consoles (or at least I am). Plus you're a lot closer to the screen and can wear headphones, so it's actually a potentially more immersive environment.

I don't foresee either party having any reason to change at any time in the near future.
I wouldn't really call them "parties"... I don't know of anyone who plays PC games who would refuse to play a console game. I play a lot of PC games myself, but I'm not exactly prejudiced... consoles are excellent, though usually for more action-oriented games in my humble opinion.

I replayed Super Mario World again with this thread in mind and came up with a few questions:
Why does hitting an enemy with a fireball conjure up a coin? Why is this inconsistent with the other titles?
It's consistent with all the later games. On this note, what about Mario's respiratory system causes gold coins to replenish his air supply when underwater?

His mask looked kind of like a gas mask in Mario 2. Maybe he's some sort of radioactively altered goomba.
Speaking of Mario 2... just what the hell happened there? (American version I mean)

I still can't conceive of "Yoshi" as a species. To me there is a species called the Yoshis, and then there is one specific individual who is called Yoshi, as well. It seems more personal that way. Please no one disabuse me, I would be so sad. (Yoshi is my favorite in N64 Super Smash, by the way)

Now this is what I was talking about. I used to play that game so much and didn't even notice the music, now that I got the chance to listen to it properly I realize how much I love it. Thanks for posting this! It actually is a rather beautiful piece of music. I never realized before. :D Speaking of WRPG music and also Bioware, I think the Planescape soundtrack has some interesting parts. Not your typical orchestral fare even if it doesn't necessarily stand on its own. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZUc7am_NsnYI think the original Metroid has a very good moody, minimalistic soundtrack. That actually ties into what I was thinking of last night, which is that maybe Bowser and Mario are actually friends, and the continual kidnappings are just to sharpen Mario's skills in case his girlfriend is actually kidnapped. This explains why Mario will amiably let bowser race against him in MarioKart. And this also explains why Bowser always puts some kind of axe or gigantic button that will bring about his own demise in his own castle, as well as why Mario keeps coming back from the "dead".
But that one's pretty good, GoldMatenes - I think the developers may actually have intended that, now that I think about it.

Haha, pacifist mode is a nice touch, though I can't score very high that way.
Great game.

Funny, I don't find Pink Moon that "depressing"... I find it sort of, I don't know, dreamlike or something like that. The lyrics are not very directly negative at all.
Really, I don't think Elliott Smith is that depressing either, except in a few select cases. His lyrics are mostly negative, but his music itself can be very uplifting. Plus most of it's totally brilliant.
Red House Painters/Sun Kil Moon is another group with a lot of emotionally negative lyrics that ends up being great instead of lame.
