I like this! I'm not very good at these kinds of games (best I got was 4 after a little while) but I wouldn't want a beginner's mode.
There are a lot of great elements to this game, like the zoom of the camera, the multicolor explosions, the music. Good work!

yes, I've never played Quake or many FPS games, and I went through the advanced door in the skill assessment, lost 6-7 in the training match. George was taken so going by tuppens. Of course, now my a*% will be handed to me in normal games until my skill rating goes back to what it should be .

Firefox was ok for me. I liked this too. I felt though that the gameplay of the moments scene clashed a little with the text, the movements had to be slow and precise, where the text implied or connoted different feelings. In the maze also movements felt really precise but this seemed to clash with the feelings a little...I'm curious what others think. I like how the gameplay made me think more about the text than I would have if I was just reading along in a story. Anyway, nice gameplay.

Oh, and for the record, I definitely don't agree with all of it, but enough that I'd write a post like this. I'll try and update noting the ones I disagree with at some point.
yeah, I'm not so sure at this point in my life that there are universal constants in architecture. Though it's kind of weird from the Amazon reviewer comments, it's like no one has read Pattern Language. Anyway I'm just thinking of comparing books like this to things like Rudofsky's, for example this one. In fact this quote from the review of that book leaps out: "I believe that sensory pleasure should take precedence over intellectual pleasure in art and architecture." I think this is related to games. I go back and forth about valuing sensory pleasure over intellectual pleasure. That seems like a separate discussion maybe.

Can somebody explain [moleskines] to me? I never got it, it seems to me people pay four times the price of a normal notebook just to have the trendy name on it.
that's probably 2/3 of it. The moleskine cover and paper are nicer than those of most notebooks you buy.

I don't think you need a tether necessarily, though that definitely could be an upgrade and would allow you to return to the sub faster (at the risk of damaging the tether say). For example scuba divers need a way to return to the surface, and they don't use a tether all the time, as far as I know they just use the buoyancy of their tanks to regulate their depth.
