I actually like the music in Tekken 2 in a "lol, that's so cheesy" way (especially the ending with Japanese lyrics). Tekken 3 had some nice tracks, like Xiaoyu's theme. I don't remember the music in Tekken 4 and I didn't play TT extensively. Tekken 5 was okay, but Tekken 6's soundtrack is really bad. I don't know, not my kind of music I guess.

SNES got the better fighters (ports), though, and I was a huge fighting game fan when I was a kid. Still, I never owned a Genesis and have been exposed to it only through emulation. I actually like its sound, and have found plenty of nice games like Ristar, Sonic 2 and Pulseman. I'm in the mood for some Genesis emulation *turns Wii on*

Not relevant to SF, but still somehow relevant: I prefer Tekken over Street Fighter as a series, but the music in Tekken is so, SO bad I can't believe it. Tekken has barely any memorable tune.

Well, the first game I loved was Street Fighter II, I was 5 or 6. So what makes a good kids' game? Well, what makes a good game? This, pretty much. Maybe not being too difficult is a good thing, though, in that case games with difficulty options or games that are supposed to be easy (like Kirby) are good games for kids.

I hate gay pride parades.
The thing is, I hate parades in general. "Hate" as in, "I'd never attend one, too loud, crowded and uncomfortable", not as in "I HOPE THEY DIE etc."

@Tanner: it's hard for me to complain about traditional Kirby games when most Kirby games these days are weird/experimental. I really like how they handle Kirby as a series, with lots of unique and creative spin-offs that don't necessarily become their own series, and some traditional Kirby games here and there.
I mean, since the GBA games, the only traditional Kirby game we've got are Squeak Squad and Return to Dream Land. They are most definitely not revolutionary, but I still find them enjoyable.

Galaxy 2 had an okay difficulty level, didn't it? There are even some parts that caused me more trouble than I'd like to admit

What I don't get is, who exactly complained that Mario games are too difficult in the first place? Mario games sell well, period. Even that SNES ROM on a DVD "anniversary all-stars" Mario sold well. So what are they trying to achieve by putting these "stupid easy" modes?
They already have a platformer series that is supposed to be easy with Kirby. And Kirby games don't need these features to be easy, they just are.

Marketing silliness aside, I think it's pretty obvious that this Mario game aims to be more similar to previous classic Mario games than a new concept, with such a huge focus on the SMB3 tail. I'm perfectly okay with that.

With the implementation of the "super guide", NSMBWii became more difficult than NSMB.
Still, I think I read somewhere that Miyamoto said the game doesn't get difficult until near the end or something like that. Let's hope it's challenging enough.

^ The 3DS version, which is coming to the eShop later this year, will feature the obligatory 3D support you'd expect, new levels, a real-time map on the bottom screen, and "future content updates." I'm definitely buying it. VVVVVV is still my favorite indie game.

From all those screens, it really looks like a mix between Super Mario 64 (especially more linear levels like Rainbow Cruise and the Bowser levels) and the FLUDD-less levels in Sunshine. I'm personally loving it.
