WHAR IS THE MAGMA CHAMBER?? It sounds pretty cool but they said it is intended for quicker games of around 20 mins. We already have twisted treeline. I want to see a bigger, more epic map.

ah, yes
but also: i don't think anyone should care about winning and losing normal games. i'm always amazed how much people do care about it. it's not like you actually lose anything for losing (there's no elo points to lose) and you get IP either way, just a little less when you lose
if it's ranked then i can understand, but the leavers lose elo points when they leave a ranked game too, so at least you can be satisfied that they aren't leaving for free
I hear that. The main reason I don't play ranked a lot is to try to avoid people who get overly angry at this game. Unfortunately they are everywhere in non-ranked too :/

I played a game today where four of the players on the enemy team disconnected after about 10 minutes. No one was entirely sure what happened, and the last guy on their team was understandably quite disappointed. It was the most undeserved win I've had in a long time. I considered reporting them for a moment, but I didn't know if it was intentional or not.
Exact same thing happened to me. The rest of my team reconnected again around 30 mins. Turns out all 4 were in the same house playing together when the internet went out.

true, there is still a very large pre-valve-version CS community
I also much prefer quakeworld TF. That's based off feel and handling though. I'm not a hugely competitive player.

My fave thing about her is her passive. Combined with merc treads there have been numerous times I've been CC'd by most of a team on my own and was able to simply walk out of it.
I try to pose as much a problem so the team uses all their CC on me while Q-Eing the carry, usually dying in the process. Later game though if done right, my teams carries usually have cleaned out the team by the time my GA revives me.
Her ult is a hell of a lot weaker these days though, i have a lot more trouble killing weak characters with it or even healing a decent amount to keep me alive.

had the 6300 and decided to buy Irelia instead. Came down to her being on of the most fun champions I've played.

Developer / Technical / Re: "Pathing" animations - how to do it?

It's gotten to the point for me where I'm writing a little animation editor program for my artist.
He can grab a subrectangle, snapshot the frames, choose the amount of milliseconds each frame (seemed important to control fps on a per-frame level, not a per-animation level) and test it in playback mode. After that he can save out a .anm file (little valve style script) and I just load it into the game.
Of course developing this is fairly time consuming but these issues come up often enough that it's worth it.

I tend to bore myself when I talk about whatever game I'm working on so I tend to try not to bring it up.
My family might have been an exception but their eyes glaze over the second I go over 2-3 sentences so I'm always reminded to shut up.

One of my greatest failures in coding, was also the biggest argument for backups. Thank god, I had made some before I started! I was working in a webdesign company as a student apprentice and was tasked with improving the performance on a customer database frontend. A little oversight in my SQL Query wiped the entire database. Or rather had everything overwritten with code. That very moment, when I realized the entire database was fubar, I had a rare bright moment, it said: "Get the fuck out of coding! And stay out!". I reckon I inched past a heartattack that day.
In hindsight, which kind of self respecting company does give full database access to a student apprentice and doesn't even bother with a proper testing environment, instead doing everything on a live server? That company is still up and running, over a decade later, so they can't be all bad either.
oh man that is scary. I'm a student worker right now and my boss is asking me to do some database stuff on a live server that I'm not very comfortable with for that exact reason. I'm glad I told him I can't really do it. Maybe I should be even more firm on that position.

I thought it was going to be persona-like too. It's a puzzle game?
Considering DS is my favourite game of the gen and 3ddh was great too I'll give this one a chance based off past performance.

You do have to give yourself a salary to be able to spend that money your company earns though? And if you have a company beyond just one person, everyone has to be employed, and they technically need to have a salary too?
you can but you don't have to (in answer to both of those questions). i don't pay myself a "salary" from the company's sales, there is not even an official company (we operate under a team name but there is no company). i'm selling games as an individual, and i give money to my friends (royalties) from what i earn. Aren't you obliged to have a company set up if you are selling something, since you'd have to pay taxes on that income? At least in Canada. If you don't register as a company you just pay taxes as a sole proprietorship under your name.
