It's hard to beat Heart of Darkness for sheer deathiness. Practically everything in that game had a new way to kill you. Now I think about it, the whole game was pretty disturbing underneath its kiddy exterior.
Also, the HoD video was cool, but it's kind of creepy how all the 'related videos' seem to be vore fetish stuff...

We must abduct him and have him making indie games in Game Maker pronto. This could be the next cactus. Or like that guy who made Sexy Hiking.
Like both of them fused together in some unholy bond of darkness.

Well thank you Oddbob, you spiked my interest even more now. This should be an inspiration for the next B-Game compo. Seriously, it's practically everything it stands for in a single game. It should also be noted on the screenshots that the game's graphics were enhanced with the addition of lensflares! Hmm, how about a sidescroller in which all the backgrounds are screengrabs from your favourite games? :D and call it something like "Limbo of the Lost: Ressurection".

Good Idea burbankbaby One alternative would be for each game to tell a predefined story. For example each game would have to tell the story of "hal-life full life consequences" or "bioapocalypse". Somehow I get the feeling that someone is going to do a Bio Apocalypse game no matter what happens. :D

Pain is the curse of consciousness. THAT WAS SO AWESOME. This kid is either going to be the next Alan Moore or the next Virginia Tech.

This is a great idea. I won't go through all my votes like I did in the main voting thread, but I do want to say that my #1 goes to Faith, to a Certain Degree for procedurally generating the meaning of life.
Our world works because of one thing: Barrels full of ale. It doesn't get any deeper than that.

Manburbanky's idea would be pretty good. Apart from just being kewl, it would attract a lot of entries because you could make a very effective but small game in the style of Passage, Execution, Decentrologic and the like.

Isn't making a large-scale RPG on The Games Factory kind of like making a sculpture out of gravel and butter? Whatever, though, I'll give it a try when I have time.

Like I said in my review thread, it's pretty fun, but it can be annoying when you get an insta-kill event. I didn't understand why the first event fate card was flipped at the start of the turn when I read the rules, though it made sense when you explained it in this thread. You should make it clearer in the rules. However, I'm not sure how well it works as a mechanic because you're not *supposed* to look at the event list anyway, are you? So knowing that the event will be between, say, V and VII, is not going to help until you've played the game a lot.
Glad to hear you're considering a multiplayer mode because I think it would work really well.

I voted for: - ZICZAC (innovative, minimalist) - Faith to a certain degree (forcing the player to make his own PG music :D ) - Wall of the Words (strategic, deep) - Dyson (graphics, atmosphere, scale) - Conway's Game of Bigotry (multiplayer, potential depth) - Apples and Oranges (original, polished, variety)

Anyone else remember This Game Stars My Penis from the Klik&Play Pirate Kart? I think there could be market in this idea.
