-Music. For level 1, I think it should be something that Stackers could play on guitars while huddled around a campfire. But it must have some movement to it or the player will be put off. I'm thinking something like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mf858edUI94 , which is actually one of the campfire tunes in Stalker.

re-do it 8 bit!

Nonsense.

Actually I thought the heads in that video looked like they might be excellent, but the bizarre context really makes it impossible to judge.

OMG  :D :D :D :D :D :D

Uncanny Valley here we go xD

when I play a web browser game there's a certain feeling of detachment.

I always feel that too, I always try to download the .swf and run it in a flash player in my desktop. But even that is becoming impossible.
Perfect example, the other day I was playing that new flash game final ninja, and as I tried to play it outside the browser, it had a protection, it didn't let me play it outside the website, I can understand why, just a protection for people who put these games in their own websites without permission. I was really enjoying the game but if you played the game you'll notice that sometimes when you try to shoot or throw the grappling hook with the mouse you'll click the bookmarks in your browser or the refresh button or whatever by mistake. This really put me off a game I was actually enjoying.

press f11 to fix that (or whatever key is fullscreen mode in your browser)

I've one, are CC (Creative Commons)licenses a good manner to protect an IP? Or is still better to have a "proper" (C)?

i said I'm using XNA for Cirle now?

(it's true)
anyway XNA runs flawlessy both in xp and vista, you just need to install the .net framework 2.0 or above, if your pc does not, you did a mess, uninstall all the stuff an reinstall a vanilla copy of the framework and it will run for sure

I'm really in need of money but I want to do all with my own forces (doing a "real" and taxable software house, having a little budget for the game, buying two xbox 360 for the xna version, maybe joining the IGF and so on...).
I'm really impressed by what you want to do and i wish you best of luck finding someone that really needs it!  Gentleman

It would make no sense to port it to flash. Find a 2600 emulator written in Java or something.

here's JStella, a java port of the Stella emulator that supports also javascript stuff Smiley http://sourceforge.net/projects/jstella

There are a couple of things that these bits of info don't tell, like if the Gameboy could do any kind of sprite scaling or rotating, how many sprites per scanline, amongst other things.

well, of course not via hardware, it could be done via software but i bet it will be freaking slow....

@BaronCid: Cricket for Two was the real first videogame in history!!! Tennis for Two was a blatant ripoff.
