Yeah, there is already some nerdrage building which will break loose soon This especially annoys me since it is now rather late here in Finland so it seems like I can't play it today but have to go to bed.

Since I'm thinking about getting Wii (or ipod Touch, I'm midst of comparing process :D) and this game looks rather cool I decided to ask some questions about it first here. How much do I need to do micromanaging? I figured out that the preparations part is vital for surviving in the battles, but how far this goes? Does this mean that I have to wade through countless of menus and manually editing allkind of sliders and options for every equipment I have to be victorious in battle? How the timelimit and three lives system works? I read there is 50min time for most quests. I wonder if it could get frustrating if this megabeast takes rather long to fight and then I notice that time is up. Also, if I die multiple times (like I expect) how it affects to the quest? Should I get Ultimate package (game, Classic Pro controller, Wiispeak, figure) or Game + Classic controller pack? Ultimate is about 95€ and other one 70-85€. How much people use Wiispeak and is it really worth of the price when I can use just my usb-keyboard? How many euroTIGers still play this or are going to get it sometime before or after christmas? Want some company

Btw, what is the state of the homebrew channel on wii nowadays? There is some rather interesting appalications there but as far as I know, they are constantly playing mouse and cat with Nintendo and I'm not sure if Nintendo has succeeded to block them now.

Is there any good jrpgs for Wii other than Tales which I don't like? Somehow I have impression that 360 and ps3 have more good rpgs but I'm not sure if that is true.

I didn't think getting x360 for only indiegames, but they were big plus for it over Wii. Now after reading Phuban's Wii thread, I'm thinking a bit more getting Wii instead of iTouch, but I have to see what I'll do.

Well, one idea could be to try customize some ordinary object. Maybe buy usb stick, dismantle it, create wooden cover and add some spinning gears and things into it? I once saw thiskind of picture in Deviant, but I don't remember if it was real thing or just picture. It was just an suggestion for inspiration. Other than that I think you should try some mechanical system with possibly electricity. I personally find such tasks rather interesting at least in cases I have done something even remotely like that

I think Bit.Trip would have been more interesting if I could have used my own music, but it still looks intriguing. However, I'm not sure if I'll buy anything from these sales since I already preordered SMB and I'm now thinking about buying Ipod Touch so I can't throw much money everywhere.

Nyxquest definitely looks rather interesting. If someone gets pack, I would be thankful for sharing one Other than that I'm looking into indie pulse pack. Does anyknow can I play my own music with Bit.Trip Beat? It looks interesting and Polynomial could be cool or not. Beat Hazard I once tried and it seemed a bit meh IMO. Rhytm Zone seems pretty generic to me.

That is good point mcc. Generally I expect some longevity though endless arcadeish gameplay could substitute it. Also I'm not usually interested in getting 100% marks in most games. I'm still not sure if those very smallscope games are my thing. Though nowadays I seem to enjoy more of little games since my time is rather limited and I have tended to gravitate from epic rpgs to smaller scale games in general too.

Okay. To clarify, most likely I wouldn't buy many ports but look more into games originally designed for iOS Somehow I'm usually a bit suspicious of ports of bigger games etc. for platforms like iOS. About jailbreaking though, what benefits it would give other than piracy? I guess flash support and some applications apple doesn't allow and of course possibility to generally tinker with your device and install linuxes etc. Is there anything else major benefits? Also, how big is the indie scene in istore in practice? I have heard many of indies going there, but I also know that there is rather wide coverage of bigger publishers too.

@MisterX Thanks for informative post! I'll definitely look into some videos and topics here. Also, I'm not really looking fullfledged long games, since I have DS for that and low prices are kinda the point of iapps. Though, some hc games would be nice too Seems also that my view of emulation on idevices were correct... Sinclair's post reminded me of one issue I have heard numerous times, and that is the onscreen buttons. How common is it that they just suck or make game nearly unplayable? I can imagine that buttons without pressing feedback could feel a bit unintuitive at least in action games... Though I probably gravitate more towards puzzles, adventures etc. but good action is always good too And hey, does itunes store have anykind region "locks"? Like I can't buy app X from region Y? I'm avoiding x360 generally because of lack of indie cahnnel here in finland... Finally, other than games, have you found any useful non-game apps?

Yeah, obviously iphone would be a better choice, but I already have perfectly fine smartphone (old but good enough for me) and iphone is clearly out of my budget and has smaller HD which is crucial since I'm also getting it for mp3 playing. I'm looking somekind entertainment system. I have netbook, but it has Linux and is lowpowered for gaming and still not a handheld :/ In touch cheap games/apps tempt me most. I could buy 360 or Wii, but those games are rather expensive and I don't have tv (though I could get one for free I think). Wii has Wiiware which could be nice for retroing. 360 doesn't have live indie channel here in finland so it is a little meh for me Finally, needless to say, I'm after indie games etc though emulation/retroing could be nice bonus (which iphone can't do...?)

So, during this autumn I have managed to scrap nearly 400€ extra cash and I'm thinking about buying something nice for myself since it is so rare as a poor college student I have been thinking about buying new ipod touch 32gb since my old ipod nano 8gb is gotten a bit small. In along with music, the gaming and apps interest me in touch. So I thought asking some opinions here of the ipod touch as an casual gaming device. I tend to carry my ipod everywhere, though I listen it rather seldom nowadays since I play music mostly from my computer but good mp3-player is still must for me. This led me to think that good amount of casual games could be nice thing to have in short breaks in college etc. However, I'd like to hear some opinios how well Touch suits for handheld gaming needs and which is the general quality level of the apps/games? Is the device worth of it's rather high price? You can also name few good games, though there is some topic about that somewhere in TIGS.

Conga rats!
Myself, I dropped the NaNo ball. Decided I want to write in December instead. You know, magical time and all that, full of inspiration. November? Lame.
I dropped because I got bored. Not as good excuse as yours, eh? Though my college studies hog my time and energy so much that they also had bigger part than boredom with leaving nano. Without them I may have been able to force myself through this :S

I wonder if that indie clever pack would be interesting. I already have WoG, Iron Grip doesn't interest me, and Doc Clock is kinda random. Eufloria and VVVVVV seem interesting. What people think about them? Guess I put demo in download... And yeah, I accept games, but please not fps:es :/ And only if you wish to give I wonder how many here have really bought packs and how many are just begging free games :D
