Don't forget action filled "epic" 1 vs 20 battles with combo counters and cinematic storytelling I also read that Miyazaki was disappointed for not having greater role in DkSII.

Shibuya says he wants to make things like the Covenant system clearer and more accessible, and he wants to make the story and messaging less subtle.
Depending on what this will mean worries me a bit, though I guess some people would like to know a bit more what there is going on in the game... One thing Shibuya wants to enhance is the action in the game. He feels that he can contribute because of his experience working on action games in the past. I'm not sure what to make about it this... Still, too little information to get too worried though. Concept art looks great anyway. I personally am the sort of person who likes to be more direct than subtle, he tells us. [Dark Souls II] will be more straightforward and more understandable. We [article writer] sympathise if that sort of statement concerns you, but at the same time, we can surely agree that we would all like to see Dark Souls attain as great a presence as The Elder Scrolls. How it gets there is a worthy matter for debate, but its certainly a noble task. http://www.edge-online.com/news/introducing-edge-249-dark-souls-ii-unveiled/

I think that glorifying of violence in media can and does affect to behavior of people. However, I wouldn't blame them. Basically I think that bullying for example can be the ultimate cause, since it makes one to hate everyone around them. I suppose that if you are in this situation and are consumer of violent media, you might got ideas from them. Most likely they would stay at fantasy level, but for someone in correct mind-state might seem like a solution. Even then this someone might very well get those dangerous ideas themselves.
Point is that yes, media can be part of the problem, but most likely it is so small that it isn't worth to be solved. For completely arbitrary numbers, lets say that the reason for shooting is: 70% bullying, 23% poor relationship to parents, 5% personality traits and 2% influence of media. Removing that 2% from equation doesn't do much, while minimizing that 70% would go much further.

Went and bought it and have been playing a bit. Any general tips how I should play this game? I mean I already had to use walkthrough to get Holy Grail and notice that the block in that statue's mouth should be hit. While I don't want to use guide I'm not sure if I had figured those out though yeah, skeleton tells that he found the secret passage. It just seems that there might be lots of stuff which I can find just by trial and error, at least at this point. Guess, I'm not yet gotten familiar with the game.

Yeah, development is one of the things I thought would benefit from that. It is not uncommon for me to juggle between 4-6 applications plus having some other ones open too (Skype, Chrome, etc).
The thing which I'm worried about is the size and resolution, since I think it might be annoying to have huge difference in real estate and/or resolution. At the moment I'm looking into 22" 1080p monitor (my main one is 24" 1080p).

Menus should respond quickly so no slow fadings. However, I suggest you to try to make menus beautiful, since research results have shown that beautiful UIs are easier and more enjoyable than to use as weird as it sounds. Probably minimal approach is way to go in graphic design.

Apparently there is ledge which is slightly further than others. When you walk down from it you drop to the root. Whole strategy is to stand near big root in left, wait till BoC swipes and run to that ledge and slow down to walk. After I learned that it was much easier than blind leap of faith.

You were lucky if you managed to avoid thunder butt though. Actually I'm in O&S right now and tried your method for big Orn and it seems to work, though not as well with katana (swings easily between his legs).
For me it is the first part which is tough though. If you can deal damage quickly or it is ranged it gets much easier though.

Yeah, thats pretty much what I meant. Increasing boss' health or defense isn't that fun difficulty compared to difficulty which comes from boss' moves, attack patterns, environment etc.
Interesting point about the bosses being as rewards. Hadn't really thought it that way but it makes sense.

@SundownKid Perhaps. However, even the first time bosses felt mostly easier than normal progress in the environment. Also, O&S is just example of boss which has more pressure on you than others, not meaning that every battle should be 1v2 etc. Another one which drives player to corner is Taurus because of a small field, while Nito and Gaping dragon for example are mostly a joke.
It is hard to describe though, some bosses just feel much more intense regardless of how experienced I was when I played them.
@Teegee Good point about SL, it is rather easy to overlevel yourself. Though personally I don't like it when boss becomes hard only because I have to hit him 200 times to beat it instead of 20.

More of the bosses should have unfair numbers and complement each others attacks? That just sounds annoying. Orn & Smough is funnest boss battle I know And more bosses should exert more pressure on the player, O&S is just one way to go.
