Hello,

I'm co-owner of Canadian indie developer Couchware Inc.  We recently released our first game Wezzle, which you can try for free from our site.

I've enjoyed playing video games since my hands were sufficiently dexterous enough to play them.  I started on an Intellivision until my brother fried it by spilling milk on it.  My next system was an NES many years later which I absolutely loved and still do.  The only system that comes to close to it was my beloved SNES.

Game-wise, I like both casual and hardcore games, although I find myself playing casual games more due to less time.  I have a special place in my heart for RPGs and plan on making one as a sort of magnum opus one day.

My skills as they relate to developing indie games are programming (I'm quite proficient with Java, C#, PHP and JavaScript), project management and some art-related work.  Over the course of making Wezzle I became fairly proficient with GIMP and Inkscape (I can't bring myself to pirate Adobe stuff anymore).

Anyway, I hope you guys will try Wezzle out and give it a fair shake, as we put a lot of blood and sweat into it and we're pretty proud of what we accomplished.

Regards,
Cameron

We recently updated the demo to contain all 4 items (up for 1 item) and go to level 10 (up from level 6).

Hello TIGForumers,

I am a developer from Couchware Inc., an indie games studio located in Toronto, Canada.  Just a few days ago we released a web demo for our flagship title Wezzle.  You can access it here:

http://couchware.ca/www/wezzle/web

When asked to describe Wezzle to people who have never seen it, I usually describe it as a reverse Tetris, where instead of adding more pieces to a board, you take them away.  Wezzle also uses the popular match-3 mechanic.

Wezzle sports four different items: a rocket that busts all blocks in a straight line, a gravity item that shifts the boards gravity permanently, a bomb that does what bombs usually do, and a star item (see screenshot above) that destroys all tiles that are the same colour as it.

For more information on Wezzle, check out our product page: http://couchware.ca/www/wezzle

All we ask is that you try our game and let us know how you like it.  If you think the demo is awesome, so-so, too-short, boring, etc., don't be afraid to share it with us.  We have a pretty thick skin and don't mind criticism, as long as it's constructive Smiley

The full version of the game will put you back $4.99, and is available for download from our website.
