so the two characters will spawn over the box and fire off in both directions? is that right? page'd I like the left one except for the nose, but I don't like the right one at all.

Hey! I used that one too. It's pretty decent, as far as tutorials go.

A suggestion for a support character: the titular character from Machinarium. He would use his ability and extend his body to damage players from above:

That's not really an attack. It would be completely weak, anyways.

Hmm... perhaps he can eat players like how he eats items in the game?

Maybe. But that seems more fitting for someone like Eets.

It wouldn't be an attack, you'd just have to get over him, he'd act like a walking wall. And he could walk around, pushing people. You could attack him, and after a bit you'd knock him down. Anyone on the other side gets damaged.

That would be pretty complex to program for an unexceptional support character.

Okay, then he could just act as a walking moving wall, who pushes people if they don't get out of the way (like Isaac from Brawl)

I like it. He should appear unstretched, wait a second for players to do what they want, then stretch to full height.

What you're suggesting would require the engine to support moving solid objects. That's a major engine change, and it's not worth it for a single support character.

hmm how about making it as an attacking rectangle with little knockback and lack of damage? that way it wouldn't require an engine change and it's doable.
