Oh this is where you posted the thread  Facepalm

I've really enjoyed the show, however this last week with Derek on I found somewhat boring.  It seemed that is was more of a rant about the forums toward the end.  I personally find discussion on game development, and the really bang for your buck informative stuff more interesting than the bantering conversation type stuff (although that is perfectly fine for the aftershow.)  Of course this kind of post is some of what you were ranting about, so take this post as my two cents  Wink

I am really enjoying this show! It's the perfect thing to have playing in the background if you're doing some dev work that doesn't require a lot of attention. I hope it continues for a loooong time. Hand Thumbs Up Left Grin Hand Thumbs Up Right

Did anyone record last night's aftershow? Do I dare say it was better than the episode itself?

I think they record them all, but don't archive them.

Anybody got an mp3 of the latest show? Or a link to a webtool that can convert a ustream to mp3?

I've put up an MP3 of episode 9. Just like the archived version, it is incomplete. I didn't listen live, so I don't know how much of the beginning is missing, perhaps 15 minutes based on the length of the recording.

Dammit, only a few hours after I just decided to listen to it on ustream. Thanks anyway, though. Grin

And if somebody decides to record the aftershows for us folks that are in a timezone that makes it impossible to listen to live, it would be greatly appreciated!

Is an actual complete version of ep 9 going to be uploaded at any point or should I just give up and listen to the incomplete version?

Sorry I haven't been able to get any MP3s posted recently. I've been without internet for almost a month now. I'll post them as soon as I can, but food and water must come first.

I'd be happy to convert the shows to MP3s for you if given directions on how to do it...

I have recorded episodes 11 and 12. I would really like to know what you guys did to rip the videos from Ustream. I written a Sikuli script to automatically stop recording audio when the podcast finishes, I used Replay Media Catcher as the recorder.

Episode 11: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/900723/TigRadio_011.mp3
Episode 12: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/900723/TigRadio_012.mp3

I use URL Snooper 2 to find the relavent .flv URL in the stream. Once you've got that it's a simple download. From there I transcode the file to MP3 because the original audio stream is some silly proprietary codec.

I really want to hear these shows but this damn library computer blocks everything.  Outraged

EDIT

Dang, my usually tricks don't seem to be working anymore. Something to do with the new advertising I suspect.

Are you guys ever planning to get on iTunes? Would be super awesome for me (and I'm guessing anyone else with an iPhone/iPod Touch Tongue)

Thanks for the shows, been enjoying what I've heard so far!

I think y'all should ask for people's audio essays at the END of the podcast instead of at the start.

Play them at the end, or remind people to submit them at the end?

I believe that playing them at the beginning just means they can fire them off and then move on, as opposed to say, being on an interesting topic, and then having to cut a guest off X minutes before the show finishes to play an essay.

Nonetheless, it only really matters if people actually submit them each week. Smiley

I'm saying ASK for them at the end. It makes more sense to ask for them at the end, cos then the podcast finishes and people will think about doin it.

Noone's gonna record a thing during the podcast, which is what you're doin now.
