SO I've had a DS for a while, and my girlfriend has been sneaking it recently, so I got one for her as well. Games she enjoys include Mario Kart, New Super Mario Bros. and Elite Beat Agents. She doesn't like Tetris though.

I'm looking for games that we can play together, preferably co-op because it's more fun than pwning each other. Mario Kart in teams is an obvious choice, and I'm looking into the Lego series (Batman, Indiana Jones and Star Wars). Any thoughts on these?

Every suggestion is welcome!

Kirby Super Star Ultra. You're gonna have truckloads of fun. I guarantee it.

Yes, Kirby is a really good choice.

Also check out Phantasy Star Zero. It's a bit more hardcore, but incredibly fun co-op. If she likes that, maybe give Pokémon a go as well? Not really co-op, but you can trade eachother creatures and help eachother out that way.

If hardcore-ness isn't an issue, then I'd also suggest Bangai-O Spirits.  Kiss

It does. You can play all the bazillion levels with another player in co-op. I've never had the chance so far but I imagine it being pretty awesome.

Children of Mana
Part of the Seiken Densetsu series, its not particularly original or incredible, but the multiplayer is very fun. Its a lot of dungeon crawling Zelda style, with plenty of grinding and level ups.

Dragon Quest IX (when it comes to the states)
My brother plays this with his gf in Tokyo a crap load. Not sure when they plan to release it here in the US, but apparently the multiplayer is pretty incredible.

Cookie & Cream
The Wii version was supposed to be pretty awesome, its a solve puzzles/action style game with some cool multiplayer aspects.

Clubhouse Games is pretty good; it's 42 parlor-style games (card games, board games, etc) and you can play it online.

Dokapon Journey. This is an Atlus RPG that is kind of a cross between a Japanese RPG, and Monopoly. One of the nice features is that it is possible to play both co-op and head-to-head on this game with just one cartridge. (so you don't have to purchase a crapload of copies)

I don't think she'll like PSO or Bangai O. I'll keep in mind:

- Kirby Superstar Ultra
- Lego Series

I heard the Legendary Starfy was really good and playable in co-op. I also need to look at Cookie and Cream.

New Super Mario Bros., lying in bed on top of one another, one's hand controls the D-pad while the other's controls the four buttons...

You can get creative with your spare hands.

Innuendo aside, sharing a gamepad is truly a fantastic way to turn any single player game into a cooperative game. I spent much of my youth doing it with a friend on a SNES.

Fuck there's that innuendo again.

No, seriously, share a gamepad with any friend. It's fun. No significant other required.

I meant my other gamepad, if you know what I mean.

I played Ring of Fates solo a while back, it was fun. Is the multi the solo mode in co-op, or is it a wholly different adventure? What about Echoes of time?

The multi in RoF was more or less the same thing as the solo mode. :V

Echoes of time is more of a throwback to the original GCN FFCC and lets you and your friends make your own characters to play as.

I played both of them alone but I'm sure EoT is a lot of fun with friends.

So Kirby is pretty fun. It kind of sucks that the companion has to be invoked though, would be more fun with two different colored kirbys on screen.

Lego Batman is really cool. It's also separated in neat, short chapters, so it's great to just play for half an hour or so on the couch. I hope Lego Star Wars and Indiana Jones are as cool  Smiley
