A really innovative bossfight game based off of Polarity's main mechanic as well as a smattering of other ones.

Atom Zombie Smasher
(Win, Mac, Linux)

New game by the developer of the stylish first person espionage game Gravity Bone and RTS game Flotilla.
http://blendogames.com/atomzombiesmasher/

The game was already mentioned briefly in february 2009 when there wasnt much info about it...
http://www.tigsource.com/2009/02/26/atom-zombie-smasher-coming-soon/

Quote
Atom Zombie Smasher is a tactical strategy game set during the peak of the 1961 zombie apocalypse. Take your mercenaries to infested cities and evacuate their populations as Zed outbreaks flood the streets.  Plan rescue operations and take to battle with your crew of snipers, demolition experts, and research teams.  And when in doubt, always count on your orbital nuclear battlestation.

- Procedurally-generated campaigns - no two playthroughs are the same.
- Fully destructible environments - raze the cities as you please.
- Cooperative multiplayer - up to three people can play together.

Searches didn't turn up any results, hope alpha versions are okay

Krautscape - win, mac
"Krautscape is a multiplayer racing game with procedurally generated tracks.

The leader is able to control the direction of the track to his own benefit, but his chasers can take shortcuts by spreading their wings and fly from one track element to another. You can play Krautscape with up to 4 players. Simply start a server and wait for some friends to connect."

Thingy
PC, XBLIG
demo build available! (30 MB)
http://athiadev.com/

thrust!
grappling hook!
2.5D!
physics puzzles!
shooting!

...totally frontpage worthy!

discovered this one on the indiegamer forums

"Still working on my Xbox 360/PC  “thrust” puzzle game.  Its still called “thingy”, and I’m still looking for artists to get involved for level design, enemy and environment work.  It’s supposed to be a modern take on the thrust genre, perhaps what would happen if  ’little big planet’ and thrust had had babies."

"The build I’ve posted doesn’t focus on combat at all, instead its prototyping off some of the physics and puzzles that are available.   Real levels will be a much more gradual mix of exploring, puzzle solving and shooting."

I found something interesting on the bay12 forums.

Embric of Wulfhammer's Castle
http://wulfhammer.org/

From TVTropes: Primarily a comedic and heavily Yuri/Shoujo Ai story (having originally been released to the /u/ board of 4.chan), the object of the game is not to fight monsters with a band of heroes to save the world from some cataclysm, but to explore the stories of the people of Castle Wulfhammer. There is almost no traditional combat and the game is packed with scenes and endings, and lots, and lots, of characters.

Another plug for RobotzDX.  Great game.  Hard for me for some reason but all in all a very polished product and another shocker considering it's yet another great-looking GameMaker game.

SuperCrateBox doesn't seem to be on this list.  It's frankly sickeningly addicting, one of those games that inexplicably eats six hour chunks of time.  You sit down at four PM to start playing it and then the next thing you know it's 2 AM and your legs have as much feeling in them as rotten logs.

Invaders: Corruption (http://invaders.manuelvandyck.com/) is an excellent arena shooter.  You wouldn't be wrong to say it's like Geometry Wars but it has a very different feel at the same time and like the others is brutally difficult and addictive.

These are my three favorites and in my opinion the most polished products released in 2010.  All of them are commercial quality, especially Super Crate Box which will probably make its creators a substantial sum of money simply for its strange addictive quality.

Animal Blast
35 MB
Homepage
Forum Thread
Trailer

a nice little jetpack arcade game where you have to reach the goal in each level as fast as possible.
for example in one level you have to escape from a huge rock (indiana jones style...) and in another one from lava...
if you touch the walls or any other obstacles the animal explodes in a bloody manner.

in every level there are also plenty of fruits and boost packs to collect...
(and sometimes a slow motion inducing powerup)

gameplay reminds of the supersheep from the worms series.

the demo offers 6 levels and 3 characters
(whereas the full version features 48 levels and 6 characters).
the price is "pay what you want".

the game is made by virtanen games who are also responsible for such games like
the manipulator, seven minutes, painajainen, virtual silence etc.

I really think you should cover Inifinity Danger, a new game for the indie section of XBLA. It's basically a clone of Warning Forever, which alone makes it good, but it's a damn good clone on top of that. It's no doubt the most polished indie game I've seen on X-Box, and it's really fun. They even made their own peer-to-peer leaderboards system, making it competetive and very addictive. It's almost insane it's sold for $1 on the indie section when it's better than a lot of the "real" XBLA games.

I'll consider writing an article if noone else does.

Pragmatica
30 MB
Homepage

(gameplay kicks in at 0:38)
Review on JayIsGames

A puzzle game where you program robots to make stuff explode.

"Use a simple pictorial programming system to command robots to solve tasks such as navigating mazes, reordering storage crates, and arranging industrial 'accidents'. Use the MapMaker to develop your own Pragmatica maps for tougher, more esoteric challenges. "

Furthermore here's the feedback and the announcement thread on the forums.

Info: The game is made by HiVE (Umbrella Adventure, Sushi! Waxy's Sushi Party, Rocket! Waxy's Rocket Party, Ark 22)
