Got distracted making a prototype and split off my team to do this solo over the weekend. Ended up with the Most Original award from Game Jam Sydney and shook hands with the dude who wrote Racing the Beam, which is significantly awesome.

Video of me presenting the game (the beginning is cut off but you get all the gameplay):

Aaaand you can get the game itself here: http://www.globalgamejam.org/2010/gnilley

So far one person has had trouble running it, others can play it just fine. If you get errors, pretty please post the first one here and hopefully I'll figure it out.

Haha, that looks like so much fun. I'll try it out once I've actually submitted my Gamma game. That's a promise.  Gentleman

I was able to run it without any errors.  It is definitely an interesting idea for a game!  The presentation video had me laughing, especially the boss fight where it looks like it was scared away by an angry little man.

This is probably the most amazing game I've ever seen.

Man, this game would be absolutely hilarious for an evening with your mates over and a substantial amount of booze. Neighbors would probably hate it, though. Grin

Haha, thanks guys.

I do have python installed by the way.
I'm starting to think maybe this is related to the problem. Later tonight when I'm in the mood if you're still in IRC I'll build a debug version.

Sitting next to you as you playtested this game was fun.

You very much deserved that innovation prize Smiley.

Thanks, but you probably got an initial error before those two started looping.

(Let me know if I'm wrong, but still...)

If anyone's having errors, please post the first message. It'd help me out.
