The Norwegians, realizing that curling is totally lame, jazzed it up with some fashion sense:

As a Canadian, I am loving these games because the Canadians are actually getting to shine in winter sports, as we usually get overshadowed by other, more wintery countries (and US and China who often win by sheer volume of contestants)

I work in downtown Vancouver, and I can peek outside my 5th story office to see street performers, parades, and cheering all day. It's kind of distracting to be honest, but the spirit in Vancouver right now is pretty incredible. :3 I'm pretty indifferent to the idea of the Olympics in general, but seeing everyone dressed up in Canadian flags and jerseys, getting high-fived and hugged by random strangers, and hearing the city erupt in cheering, yelling, and car-horn blowing whenever we win a medal or score a goal is pretty amazing, and has got me feeling all patriotic and stuff. ...GO CANADA GO!

That's incredible. I watched a segment the other day saying the Canadian spirit is abnormally high, but from what you're saying this like being in Regina when the Riders won the Grey Cup... except this is everyday, and likely much bigger crowds of people.

I always thought the categories that are basically mashups of different sports together were a bit silly, like the biathlon.

I love how Shawn White dominated everyone in the halfpipe last night. His first run secured his gold medal and he topped it off in his second run with a triple-whammy 1260 McTwist or something like that (a move apparently only he can do). He was getting at least 6 feet of air over everyone else the whole time.
It's fun to watch someone kick so much ass like that. Why is there always exactly one person in every sport that's heads and tails better than everyone else?!
Yeah, that was my favorite part... "What should I do? Ride down the middle?"

Actually, the more I watch and study curling the cooler it looks, I merely say that because the immediate reaction of an American to curling is "why are these Canucks scrubbing the floor? LAME."

They just need to introduce curling to a wider, global demographic.
I know, curling on motorcycles. Truly I am a genius.

I was walking through the mall yesterday, the Shwarma place had the curling game on TV, I was calling the shots, it was fun.

One of our skaters, Sven Kramer, got disqualified yesterday on the 10KM because his coach made a fuck up He had the best time, too. Such a bummer
