Pretty sad about that Georgian Luge guy. Also I though it was kinda funny how one of the pillars didn't rise.

I love how Shawn White dominated everyone in the halfpipe last night.  His first run secured his gold medal and he topped it off in his second run with a triple-whammy 1260 McTwist or something like that (a move apparently only he can do).  He was getting at least 6 feet of air over everyone else the whole time.

It's fun to watch someone kick so much ass like that.  Why is there always exactly one person in every sport that's heads and tails better than everyone else?!

I wonder if it's a risk/reward thing. He risks his life and gets first place. Anyone else would be risking their life for second place (since SW has more experience with this magnitude of awesome).

The Australian TV coverage is limited to events Australians participate in, and even then we only get to see the Australian athletes. Then we're subjected to hour long interviews about "giving it your best", "on the day", and "110%". It is, as they say, a tragesty.

I'm from Canada, so you can imagine I'm excited. Too bad US is pwning in medals though. And there have been so many accidents that some will go as far as calling our great land cursed. At least the opening ceremony was amazing.

It's even more amazing once you learn that he was born with a heart defect and had two open heart surgeries within his first year.

To my knowledge The foxtel coverage is less sappy.

The different spelling wont stop everyone from twittering @ShawnWhite instead of Shaun White.  Cheesy
