I made a game for GAMM4.

Its full name is "THE AMERICAN DREAM: Are We Not Drawn Onward To New Era?" and yes, I was aiming for an indie game bingo.

You can read my post-mortem on the game---its goals, design, and implementation---on my blog, here. The game itself is available (for everything but Mac, as of this writing) here.

And also pictures!

Yes. Well...yes. Try not to gasp all at once, folks.

Constructive criticism and disappointed pats on the back are welcome.

Incredibly interesting idea and presentation. You deserve that monocle.

I'll be very honest: I had avoided posting anything about my game on TIGsource, because of its (my game's) blatant and thorough amateurishness.

And then the last two posts there just completely made my day, and pretty much made the project worthwhile.

Gentlemen, cheers.  Gentleman

I am really enjoying the minigames, they have a great sense of humor about them. I just wish I could get through the game proper, it keeps crashing on me :C

Dang! Sorry about that. Any messages? Anything unusual in awndo.log (same directory as the .exe)? Where/how does it crash?

the crash always happens on the "static" screen, but it seems random as to when it happens. twice ive had it crash after being born and in the last play I got almost all the way through.

the contents of awndo.log is:

LOG: Log file initialised!
WARNING: No joystick detected!
*** GAME BEGINS! ***

Hmm...that's a tough one. I thought I'd thoroughly playtested, but sometimes...

Anyway, thanks for the update. I'll get on that ASAP tonight, and upload a new version whenever possible.

Again, sorry for the inconvenience!

no problem, I can't wait to play the whole experience.

the last level is such a kicker, I almost don't want a tutorial level of it before it shows up.

prey and fuck are my favorite levels, though the statement in kids is real clever.

Well, it's actually on the shortlist, so it's still in the running.

I dunno, spoilers?

This is awesome, especially because my entire life was filled with bullshit and then finally I got a chance to fuck and I died before anything good happened.  A perfect cap to my wonderful life  Beer!

I saw everyone posting their games, and I thought I might as well do likewise. I absolutely, thoroughly expected nothing more than to be laughed off the stage. So the current response is just a tad unexpected and overwhelming.  Shocked

I am so very, very sorry.

Funny! I liked how each minigame was a inside joke.
