Okay, weird request. I'm going to make a game for this. However at the end would it be possible to be excluded from the voting?
I don't really like making my games to be voted on, primarily because I want people to play my stuff because they're interested in it, rather than feeling they are obligated to as part of their voting decision.
That is a weird request. I feel that if you're going to participate on the competition, you need to compete. You can always make a cart game on the side, but if you don't want to participate in the voting it's probably better not to make a thread in the compo subforum. You could always post it in DevLogs, though. Really, you shouldn't worry about that kinda stuff. Don't overthink it, have fun, make games, participate on silly votings with no prizes!

That's a shame. I'm still going to make the game but I'm going to drop out of the competition then.

Is there any chance that someone out there needs a musician? Examples of my work are at Slide20xl.bandcamp.com. I'd really like to try my hand at making music for something.

There is a thread stickied within the subforum where you can post offering your services for collaboration, or finding others that want musical help.

Although I'm a little late to get here, this competition looks awesome. Thinking of basing it on this: Which google translate describes as "THE KEY" Notice and the boy are not guilty in the darkness. I can not remember exactly how or why here. The door can not go out as they locked out. In order to escape, but only relying on the hunt for the key light enters through the keyhole, or toe hit the corner of a desk, hooked to the trap ... or struggle. Interesting community spirit and you light it, a little eccentric action will escort the boy to a RPG game. Gradually revived memories of the boy by the door is opened it will also have solved the mystery.

Hey uh, Melly? I've been having very times lately, and still have a lot of work to do on my game. I think a lot of people here are in the same bucket. It would be of great help to us if we could get a little extra time, perhaps

I'm not sure. We already had one month. It's not like the Commonplace Book Compo that started as 2 weeks and then extended to a month.
But I'll see about it. Maybe if enough people are willing to pull through and complete their games I can add another week to the time.

Having schoolwork and several days out of town coming up, I'd love an extension, but I'm not expecting it.
It seems a lot of the people in this compo (myself included) are doing larger, more complete games, as opposed to simple games based off of a single idea, because the carts lend themselves to more grand ideas than a single specified game mechanic or a phrase taken from a book.
