I recently got a 100$ Gift card on amazon.com, and thought I should get my longtime favorite/most wanted to be owned system, the NES. Does anyone know of any good games other than Mario, Metroid, and the obvious for the NES, that can be available on Amazon? Thanks.

The 100 Best NES Games Ever.

Great list and has a lot of obscure stuff packed into it.

Rygar and Ultima: Quest of the Avatar spring to mind.

Honestly buying individual NES carts is going to eat up quite a bit of cash. What I've found is the best way to buy NES stuff is just do an ebay search for "NES Lot", I got a copy of Castlevania II, Gauntlet, and Wizards & Warriors for $6 with shipping last time I bought one of those.

But I know you have an Amazon gift card and it seems like you're wanting the retro-awesomeness of NES games, so first of all if you have an old NES and the PIN has never been replaced, you'll want this: http://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Replacement-Pin-Connector-Entertainment-System/dp/B000A3IA0Y/ref=pd_sim_vg_3

Nes Games to buy on Amazon:

Super Sprint
Metroid
DuckTales
Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers
Ghosts n Goblins
Ninja Gaiden
Blaster Master

All of these games are reasonably priced. If you want to get a better price guide, go to http://www.nintendoage.com/ and download their PDF newsletter. At the bottom every month is a price guide for every NES game available. Sometimes they are a little high, but mostly its accurate.

Journey to mothefucking Silius

Best soundtrack ever, that's all I have to say. The gameplay itself is a mix of Contra and Mega Man. It's awesome.

EDIT: Here's the Amazon link to it:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00004SVYA/ref=sr_1_olp_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1267311782&sr=8-1&condition=used

Oh, and while I was searching for it on Amazon, I saw they have Metal Storm too. Great game, get that as well. It's a platform shooter where you can reverse gravity! That's right, VVVVVV didn't come up with that concept first.

EDIT: Also all the games Ivan just listed are pretty much what I'd recommend as well. Especially Shatterhand and Batman: Return of the Joker (which is made by the same people who did Silius, and also has pretty a kick ass soundtrack), those are both great games.

A Test of Island Courage!

Oh my gosh, I couldn't recommend this more!  I really loved this game when I was a kid... I actually went back and played it on virtual console and it was still fun.
