I'm not entirely sure what you mean.

I tend to find the more something gets quoted on internet message boards the more its value lowers. Adding to the that it's a Blaxsploitation pastiche done in a time when doing a Blaxsploitation film carries no weight.

Actually looking back I probably should have put something else in that quote so it didn't look too much like a dig.

Not every movie, especially comedy flicks meant for entertainment, needs to carry too much weight for the time they're made. The movie itself is an amazing comedy with great delivery. You should watch it for that alone.

And like I said before, to let others' opinions influence yours is a waste of your time.

It's about as much a Blacksploitation film as Spaceballs is science-fiction and Young Frankenstein is classic horror.  It's comedy that riffs on 70's cheese.  It uses the same notes, but it's a different type of music, you dig?

This is one of my favorite flicks of the last year. I can't imagine why it didn't get a wider release. I'd probably rank the flick up there with Blazing Saddles and Airplane. Seriously.

One of my favorite bits is when that waitress tells the guy what they have for breakfast, the guy's like "Chicken and waffles!?" and Rosco jumps up and yells "THAT'S IT!" and runs out of the diner.

That and the few occasions when the mic gets into the frame.  There's one in particular where BD stands up during a speech and he hits his head on the mic, and then he just keeps doing the talk and finishes, but like two or three frames before the cut he looks up at the mic.  The timing in the deliveries and the editing is just perfect.

I think the funniest scene in the entire movie is when they're in the waffle house. The logic BD employs and their extensive knowledge of greek mythology are hilarious, as is the aforementioned "THAT'S IT!"
