Today I hit 10 retail games And while Pokémon Rumble Blast is not something I'd recommend to non-Pokémon fans, and Tetris is just Tetris, I really like all of them. Especially Shinobi and the Marios. By this point, on DS I had Super Mario 64 DS, Mario Kart DS, Resident Evil: Deadly Silence, Marvel Nemesis (lol, one of the worst game I've ever played) and... Nintendogs, I think

Heh, I got Mario 3D Land, PilotWings Resort and Ridge Racer 3D. Ridge Racer is my guilty pleasure, I seem to get it in every single console I own, for some odd reason.
What game is that, 3rd from the bottom? Is Shinobi any good?

What I don't understand is why they bothered to convert Cave Story to 3D and make it look worse than original, or am I missing something?

Lol, I had a copy of marvel nemesis for the ds I just wanted a fighter for my new-ish handheld and thought "how bad can it be?", since I usually don't care about reviews. It's the last EA game I bought. I just couldn't believe they could think that game was a finished product worth releasing. What game is that, 3rd from the bottom? Is Shinobi any good? 3rd from bottom is precisely Ridge Racer 3D I agree, it's quite fun, and one of those games that you can play on small doses so it's perfect for a handheld. And Shinobi is my favorite non-Mario 3DS game and one of my overall favorite games from last year. My impressions from last year: First, the bad: - I'm no graphic wh_re, but this game is not pretty. It's not the PS1-ish graphics as much as the forgettable art style, including the "cinemas". - Not a huge fan of the "vehicle" parts. The horse was passable, but the way too long truck jumping part was painful to play repeatedly. <<< I just sucked at it - Some issues with the readability of the platforms.
Other than that, it's such a blast to play. The gameplay is spot-on, playing a stage from the beginning when you lose doesn't feel like a chore and it's satisfying to learn the stage and play it perfectly. They definitely got the retro platformer feel right. I love how it rewards playing carefully instead of trying to kill everything that moves. What I don't understand is why they bothered to convert Cave Story to 3D and make it look worse than original, or am I missing something? I personally like how it looks, and the music is even better than the original in my opinion. And owning Cave Story physically, I like that

Yeah, I bought the DSi version (not the 3ds one, even though I play it on my 3ds) just to kick Pixel a little cash, even though I still mostly play the pc version.

I just have Pilotwings Resort and Kid Icarus, but both and super-good. I'm still busy picking up regular DS titles so I haven't gotten really deep into the 3DS catalog. Maybe I'll get Mario 3D once I finish the games I'm playing now.

Lol, I had a 3rd from bottom is precisely Ridge Racer 3D LOL!!! Figures why I thought it was familiar. I don't use the cases much, having the cartridges near the console and the cases stored in case I want to sell them later, I never look at them much. I agree with your comment on RR3D. It's a very ideal racing game for when commuting.

Considering the ridiculous online store, any good games there?
I'd like to have something fresh, but not willing/having money to spend on a full blown retail title.
No way paying for their retarded prices for GBA/GB/GBC games. 3DS specific games preferred, but if there's any DSi games worthy of mention, shoot ahead.
