Yup, better battery life. I think the new design is much cleaner and more appealing to me. Also, another consideration is that 1:1 DS games will now look GREAT unlike before where they were far far too tiny.

Will be tempted by a 3DSXL. I loved my DSiXL. Hopefully the shoulder buttons are more comfortable to use than the normal 3DS.
Europe already got Wario Land a while ago. ^_^ But I second the comments above the a new Wario Land would be ace - especially a 3DS Wario World made by Treasure. I only played part of the GC Wario World (the disc was sticky and I didn't dare put it back in the Wii), but it was great.

My 3DS is way too fucking small for my gargantuan hands. Selling it to get an XL as soon as it comes out.
I'm lucky because I got the limited edition Zelda 3DS and I'm going to get easily $160+ for it on eBay.

I decided I'm keeping my 3DS "Lite". It's the exact same size of my DS Lite (my favorite DS model) and my Game Boy Pocket. Plus I prefer its looks and it has better PPI. And I already own it I'm going to need money for Vita and WiiU.

Are you talking about the gold/platinum member rewards?
I looked at the games, but they're all games I have (Mario vs. DK was probably the best, and it's still not that exciting). I went with the 2013 calendar.

3DS XL looks fucking huge. I may or may not buy it. Right now I think I will stick with the original, though. It works fine and I haven't ran into any issues. Also what's with all the 2d Mario games Nintendo?

It's one per console. They just want to release the 3DS and WiiU one ASAP since they keep selling forever, not to mention they'll definitely boost hardware numbers. Both the Wii and DS one sold more than 25 million copies individually, they're crazy popular.

Money seems like a good incentive, but the games look so samey ... ugh. I just wish Nintendo would be as creative with their 2D games as they are with their 3D.
But who knows, I haven't played it. Admittedly NSMBU looks interesting, if not for those fancy backgrounds.

im not sure how to feel about those new super mario bros games. i mean they're solid and all but otoh they just feel like tired rehashes of shit nintendo already did better 20 years ago (minus the co-op i guess).

My thoughts exactly, albeit a bit harsher than I would put it Thankfully Nintendo's "3D" Mario track-record is astounding, so I will be looking forward to their next endeavor there.

I had a quick go of an XL in a shop. Seems pretty nice. Only played a quick bit of Mario Kart but it was comfy to use. I think I'll hold off for nicer colours or some sort of bundle though. The guy I was talking to in the shop was useless. He suggested I trade in my old 3DS against an XL, with no warning of how I'd lose all my shop purchases and friend list.
Also bought Theatrhythm Final Fantasy on Friday. It's a nice rhythm action game if you like FF music. Very well presented. Looks like it'll be a bit of a grind to properly unlock all of the songs in the game, but there are randomly generated mini-challenges that can include the not-yet-unlocked songs.
The DLC system works well enough. The shop takes a while to load up. 90p for a song is pretty good though.

Just got mario kart 7. Great game, alot better than the Wii version (it's harder, and the items don't make the game unplayable) still have online to go, but a great game, I'm happy that i bought it.

I was thinking of getting Theaterhythm, but only after I clear my unfinished game cache. It looks like there's equipment and levels in the game? I don't really understand how it works, unless that's all just window dressing and doesn't really impact the game.
