Keepin' my tab open.
Or just download this: http://layton-vs-gyakuten.jp/bgm/gyakuten.mp3and this: http://layton-vs-gyakuten.jp/bgm/layton.mp3 The 3DS is quite exciting, though considering that I got a DS Lite and still only have 4 games for it, I've got enough to catch up on before ever considering buying the new one. Reminds me, I've still never played Professor Layton or Phoenix Wright..

Oh hey that's pretty awesome, thanks I've still never played Professor Layton or Phoenix Wright.. I'm kinda in the same boat as you, except I started playing them but stopped half-way through. Don't really know why I stopped tbh

This week I'm going to buy Layton Unwound future since it's released finally here. I have played Laytons but Phoenix Wright has just slipped past me. However, I'm rather sure I would enjoy them as well. Btw, what's the deal with Layton and Phoenix here? I mean there reads "vs." so are they kind of rivaling each other but end up teaming up or something? Can't understand japanese.

Yeah, the VS implies that they are against each other (as does the opening of the trailer), but I'm sure they end up getting along well enough. I'm super stoked about this cross-over; I wouldn't have expected it in a million years, but now that is happening I'm super excited. I just wonder if the real core gameplay is going to be more puzzle solving, or court room stuff... or just a mix of both? I read it was "puzzles with contradictions" but that doesn't exactly explain...

They've played this game before with the Phoenix Wright series; I can almost guarantee that title will get localized... not worried about it, but I will do my part!

Sounds like a marketing ploy to me. But even if doesn't get released I'll just play the Japanese version. :D

The whole game is a marketing ploy.

Actually the thing "comment here to save the day" thing felt as a marketing ploy to get people to register on site since commenting seemed to require registration :D

The 3DS is probably going to be region locked Why would they region lock the 3DS and not the DS? Plus you know, I might just end up buying a Japanese 3DS if there are no other work arounds.

They are already region-locking some DS games for DSi. You can't play a Japanese version of Pokémon Black/White on an American DSi, for example. You can on a DS/DS Lite, though, those older versions will remain region free.

The Nintendo 3DS is definitely not region free.
I'll be importing one for the sake of being able to play Japanese games, but I have a feeling it'll be just a matter of time until someone decides to find some homebrew way to play those games.
