Virtual NES claims to be capitalizing on some loophole where they can only put up games they own physically. That's why they push pretty hard for donations - once they get a new cart they can throw up the ROM.
I'm not sure if that actually protects them somehow, but they're pretty adamant about it. So much so that they've already got sister sites for gameboy and SNES.

No surprise here. Capcom is dead and has been for the past two years at least.

I understand Capcom is a company and will do what is financially better for them, but really? When we have Xseed and Atlus publishing stuff that is bound to flop, making a freaking Megaman game for Capcom doesn't seem that difficult. Yet apparently Super Street Fighter IV and RE: Mercenaries are doing fine on 3DS, I really don't know why they thought it was a bad idea to complete this.

Just some facts about that cancelation: Inafune left Capcom on October 2010. This was posted in some imageboard back then, too: I have no idea if this picture is real or not, but I can easily believe it.

It'd make sense if Mega Man was a system-seller, but no Mega Man game has managed to sell even half a million in recent memory. Let alone a spin-off of an already niche game. I mean, it could be true, but it's kind of farfetched in my opinion.

@Rdein: Just posting to let you know it's been confirmed as real. Which really raises some serious questions.

I find the financial reasons thing hard to swallow. I mean Capcom released a sequel to Okami, a game notorious for its low sales, not too long ago ffs.
