one correction though, and the tigcast is run by dock and dragonmaw -- dragonmaw hasn't made any notable games yet (or any) but is a games journalist for big download, and dock made tumbledrop, which was featured on a few places and even cloned before its release (like night game)

Er, quick correction of the correction, TIGCast is run by dragonmaw and godsavant, and also me(sort of).  Godsavant worked on Tower of Heaven, and I made a bunch of things that people haven't heard of.

Anyway, I can't really see this documentary as anything other than a good thing.

He organizes the GAMMA competition, he has a game announced that's highly anticipated (not easy to do, a lot of people try to generate hype for their games and fail horribly, such as Adam Coate or CyanPrime). There's probably more but that alone is more than most of us have done. And what if he does eventually release Fez, then what?

I never had any problem with the way Fish communicates. I always thought he types like that because he's just dicking around and not really taking anything seriously. Though now he is pissed, and I can see why. I remember once you pulled the same thing on this guy, for reasons I still don't really get.

regarding the first part, i didn't mean to offend fish in any way by what i've said. i'm just sort of stating things that i see as factually true and which many other people also see as true. nobody mentioned fish at all until he jumped in and attacked me; after that it's just been me defending myself from his accusations, which i think is bringing this topic far too much on a tangent.

regarding the second part, i've actually gotten several PM's and a few IM's regarding this thing, all expressing support for me and saying they wish they could publicly say what i'm saying; some even from people who have met him personally. also, check the [secret forum] thread on this topic, there are many quotes there where people agree with me. so saying that nobody else shares the same opinion me about this is pretty strange if you've read those quotes. you definitely don't have to agree with me, but at least don't pretend i'm the only one who dislikes fish or the only one who thinks there's an exclusionary kool kids klub of indies.


anyway, back to the topic: so far, a lot of people in this thread have said that they support this project, but so far very few people have donated to this project. after posting this project on tigsource, there were only two more donations in two days. i kind of worry that this project is something that a lot of people say they support, but don't actually intend to donate to.

so instead of making this thread about fish (which seems to be what he wants to do), how about we instead talk about whether we donated to this project or not, and whether we intend to do so. sound good?

i haven't donated yet, but intend to do so after i cash this month's check for sales of immortal defense (which probably won't be that much unfortunately, but every little bit that we can donate helps). anyone else?

The documentary is awesome and deserves to be made.  Energy would be better spent talking about why it's awesome and why it deserves to be made, and brainstorming possible avenues to evangelize and help it, versus character assassination and character defense.

What the hell. That's really out of order. "I know people who hate you and we all talk about it in secret" is a really jerky, bullshit thing to say. And it doesn't prove a damn thing.
