yeah they are complete crap, but I respect everyone's musical tastes. You can't compare Nickelback with Tim Langdell, the former is just a group of people making crap music because it sells (which isn't that shocking considering pretty much any musician in the mainstream music industry did it or are doing it, even if sometimes their music is not as crappy) while the latter is just...well, Tim Langdell. The gaming industry's biggest shit bag, he would probably sell his mother if it meant he could bring down another company for using "his" Edge trademark.

I can't hate on Nicklebad, even after they were voted the Worst Band in the World, to atone for their sins, they donated a pile of cash to charity. They make generic rock, there are far worse music to have to listen to, just be happy you don't live in Canada, where it's kind of a CRTC rule that your rock radio station has to play Nickleback or Theory of a Bad Band if there isn't a Canadian band that is up and coming.(Unless you are Classic rock, then play old Rush or Tragically Hip again)
BUT still, dudes, "Well, it's OK because my neighbour's house smells like shit too!" isn't a good answer.

Oh please, the only people who think that Nickelback are the worst band in the world are the only people who have forgotten the Crazy Town, hed(p.e) and P.O.D. rap rock triptych, so let's actually work those memories when we start namedropping shitty music.

Why do some people think that everyone with a particular hobby thinks the same way?

Also, try the following:
1. Search for a video of a well-respected rock band (e.g. Led Zeppelin) on Youtube. 2. Post a comment saying the Jonas Brothers are better than the band in said video 3. You should receive your first death threats within a few minutes.

Yeah, seriously. Hell even the indie/alternative station plays it sometimes.

Dudes, Nickelback is more than just a bad band. Having known people on the 604 label, there is definitely a whole creepy brand thing going on there.
Like I said, cynical fucking cash-in. Crummy musicians I can handle. In fact, sometimes they're even kind of endearing. On the other hand, the whole "manufactured music to sell to idiots" thing is just intolerable.
Edit: Also, seriously, Derek, that picture comparison made my night.

I guess Nickelback would be more like Bobby Kotick. Not quite as bad as Langdell, but still pretty nasty.

This sounds very much to be like people who hate FarmVille because it's just exploiting addictive tendencies to make money. Or hating pulp paperback fiction, or generic action movies. i.e. snobbish
