Hey guys,
Thanks for all the answers in the PC / Game Controllers thread, they were super helpful. There's one more thing I'd love to know - Do you guys ever use an HDMI cable to hook up your PCs / Laptops to your HDTV?
Reason I'm asking is, I blocked out a multiplayer game over the last couple of weeks that's starting to be super fun, but it's very much in the vein of Bomberman / Worms and other older multiplayer games that were the most fun when being played locally with a couple of people in front of the TV.
I'm just wondering how many people here actually go through that hoop of hooking up the Laptop to an HDTV to play their games in full hd res. A lot of the recent indie games (and emulators) are soooo much fun using this setup, with 4 wireless controllers - freaking priceless fun.

Yep, I do it sometimes. Drag my tower over to the TV and hook it up. Really wish there were more hotseat/splitscreen/singlescreen multiplayer PC games. It's really awesome, though. And yes, especially for games like Worms. (Wormux and Hedgewars are really fun, free "Worms"-likes)

I don't have an HD Televisor, though, if I did, I would hook up computers to it.

I don't have a TV, and haven't had one for years. I watch TV programs using the various online 'on demand' services that the UK channels have now. That way I'm free to watch programs when I want and not when the scheduler dictates.

Once again I am baffled by this completely one-sided question.
I hook up my consoles/tuner/dvd player to my PC monitor, which is far larger and higher resolution than any television I'd bother to own.

Nah and I probably won't unless some friends suddenly become interested in the same types of games that I play. I pretty much play games alone 99% of the time.

My 24" 1920x1200 PC monitor is big enough for me and an additional player with two gamepads. Plus I don't own a HDTV.

Am planning to scrap my tv soon, if it wasn't for the fact that I love my PS2 I'd have done so a long time ago.
We pay a media tax in Denmark and I a trying to avoid it by not owning a device which will require me to pay it. I've been thinking about getting a tv which isn't digital because then I can't use the tv for anything but my PS2 and DVDs.
Problem is that I own a phone and this means I have to pay the media tax anyway...stupid danish law.

I played Spelunky on a projector at work for a few minutes, it was hilarious. But my laptop doesn't have the graphics power to hold it.

My PC screen has better resolution than my "almost-hd-crap" TV, so there's no point

kinda... I mostly hook up my pc to the tv to watch movies in the couch. But for gaming, my monitor has better resolution, and since I use mainly a keyboard/mouse to play, it's not very practical to use the tv for games.

Man...all these people crowing about resolution on an...indie forum? For shame! You all miss the point - it's about screen size, not resolution. Being able to sit back far away from the screen is how many of us used to play games. Bringing that experience back would make a lot of the games around here more enjoyable since they don't demand super high resolution graphics & complicated input. Also, most people have higher quality audio hooked up to the TV rather than the computer. Unfortunately, none of my PC's have an easy way to hook up to the only TV in the house since the TV doesn't have VGA input and the PC's don't have HDMI out. That said, a lot of net/notebooks are coming with HDMI out these days. HDMI is obviously the way to go since you get sound at the same time.

That's why I do it. There's nothing more awesome than playing Metal Slug 3 on a huge ass HDTV with an Arcade Stick right in front of it. 2d graphics never looked better.
A lot of the recent PC games also play really well with a 360 controller and since most games are being developed with console deployment in mind, you're able to play pc stuff on extreme settings on pretty average hardware.
Portal, Bioshock or Emulators (Shadow of the Colossus, Cave Story or Wind Waker, soooo nice!) in 1080p on an HDTV is almost orgasmic.
