RPG

I played GoW3. Here's my ultra-fast rundown:
- If you liked the previous ones, you should like this one.
- Graphics are obviously amazing.
- Gameplay is still fairly buttonmashy, with only minor improvements.
- Game puts 2 epic-styled bosses right at the beginnng areas of the game, and then the creators seem to lose most of their ideas, only having one more even slightly memorable boss before you inevitably fight Zeus (which doesn't look much better than when you fought him in GoW2).
- Game has some pacing issues, in part because of the uneven boss battles.
- Dive-bombing bat/harpies are still annoying motherfuckers (they love to pair them with medusas).
- Amazingly, the extra weapons are not all completely useless compared to the Blades. Not amazingly, 2 of them handle practically the same as the Blades. The other is the Cestus, which is the only weapon other than the Blades you'll ever want to use and upgrade.
- They managed to make Kratos even less likeable, if that was even possible. And it seems they expect you to feel bad about his plight.
- A specific cutscene late in the game can't possibly be taken seriously despite the dialogue taking place. You'll know it when you see it. Another has Kratos do his best
RAEG face ever, and it looks hilarious.
- Ending manages to be a fair bit more interesting than I thought it would be, but nothing that you'll want to rave about.
- They still can't give the damn game some form of complete finality.
- The challenges you unlock after beating the game can be absurdly difficult, in part thanks to the glitchy arena where they take place.
- Other unlockables are meh.
- There is no New Game+, though managing to fully upgrade your stuff is easier this time around.
- Voice-acting is as usual superb despite the simplistic script. Even so Kratos often sounds silly in his
RAEG fueled speeches.
