Awww yeah, TIGVan: CANADA 2010 Starts MAY 1ST!

What is the TIGVan?

The TIGVan is a 1991 Chevy G-20 Semi-Camperized Van.

It features:

- Luxury Wood Panelling
- Mood Lighting
- Fake Velvet Interior
- Fold-out queen-sized bed
- Tinted Windows
- Wine rack

Where is TIGVan being held?

TIGVan starts in Victoria, BC on May 1st, 2010 (roughly a week from this post). It ends in Victoria, BC on July 20th or so, 2010.

Somewhere in between those two dates, TIGVan will pass through:

- Vancouver
- Calgary
- Edmonton
- Winnipeg
- Sudbury
- Toronto
- All the fuck over the Maritimes
- Some nothern US States

Dates for each location are not firm; in fact I'd say they are downright unplanned. Updates will follow!

What is TIGVan's purpose?

TIGVan's primary mission is goddamn BEER.

TIGVan's secondary mission is to seek out new cultural life and scenic vistas.

TIGVan's tertiary mission is to seek out new indie devs and new gamejam venues.

GET INVOLVED TODAY!

My girlfriend and I will be picking up hitchhikers (YOU COULD BE NEXT!!) and generally exploring, blogging, photo-ing, and video-ing anything of interest (NOT tourist attractions, and NOT the #1 highway) along the way.

Are you on my haphazardly laid route? Recommendations for re-routing to your local drinking establishment? Have a shower I can borrow in exchange for us cooking you dinner or some junk? Want to make some friggin GAMES???

(Am also looking forward to doing some game developer interviews on-camera)

Let's hook up!

TIGVan dot COM! Redirects to BeerCrisis.com due to my ineptitude at web design unfortunately.

We give special bonus discounts to hitchhikers with unicycles

Also: We might just barely make it to TIGJam in winnipeg. But we might have blown past it by then. It's awfully late! Maybe a TIGJam winnipeg pre-party?

Man, if I didn't have to start work next month!

I happen to be located in Victoria as well, as it turns out.

Hahaha no waaay.

Goddamn Canada is HUGE though Sad I'm right in the middle of two of your stop locations (Vancouver - Calgary) and yet 8-10 hours from either.

If you guys want to stop in Kamloops, BC for a day, since it's a good place (THE place?) to branch out to either highway 1 or 16 off the Coke depending on whether you want to go to Calgary or Edmonton first, I'll totally meet up with you guys!

Also, @Chris, you live in Victoria? I'm moving there sometime this summer, we should totally meet up when I do man, you seem like a real cool guy.

EDIT: Hah! I just checked your route and you guys totally are passin right through my hometown! I live in Clearwater, which is like 1.5 hours north of Kamloops. Keep me updated and you guys can drop in since you'll be practically cuttin right through my backyard anyways!

I'll pick up some beers and weinies and we can sing songs about game dev at the campfire by the river Well, hello there!

Wow, looks like you guys'll have a great summer!  Beer!

Matt Thorson, myself, and a friend of his meet weekly to work on our respective game projects, so we'll have to a little indie meetup while the TIGVan is in Edmonton.  Smiley

Posted a new version of the rough route. It's a bit more accurate to my current plans, but note that only the markers themselves are my intention; googles handy blue line is just a suggestion. Smiley

Yeah I know a place with dirt-cheap beer and awesome atmosphere in Edmonton. We'll get our jam on then I'll buy you a pint.

If you do stop by Ottawa, the best burgers anywhere are waitin' for ya.

Unfortunately, I can't offer a bed or shower myself, but I may be able to help find you one.
