It does look likely they will surpass last year. I'll be curious to know how the money will have been split in the end.
Already bought mine, even though the only game I looked forward to in RotT, since I've played 3 of the others and CC isn't the kind of game to interest me. RotT has been fun however.
The websites using the bundle for advertisement is kind of a strange thing. Like they want to try and show themselves as charitable at the same time they're typing spam on the top contributor list. Honestly that doesn't make me a fan of them. Charity with ulterior motives and all that.

Charity with ulterior motives and all that. Is there any other kind of charity? I don't mind it, personally. It's a win-win situation - charity/indies get their money, companies get their recognition.

cool story bro
I too am outraged and upset that independent game developers are trying to profit from their work using marketing tactics. I believe these practices should be limited to corporate publishers such as EA, Activision and Ubisoft.

Yeah, with this rate all indies will be like Bobby Kotick That's it until they learn how to profit via other's games in courts by accusing creators using certain "registered" words in their game titles...

Like I said earlier, I bought it for Machinarium.
Braid I already have (and already finished...) Osmos I already have too. Revenge of Titans I played the demo and disliked it (it is just another tower defense thingy... sorry tower defense makers, but this genre is boring to me unless you really innovate somehow). And Cortex Command also made me get the bundle, version 22 showed potential and all... And now the version 24 is WORSE than version 22, it totally frustated me, I even had deleted my version 22 here when I got this version 24 (my version 22 was a frankenstein version that someone handed me, I think it was a cracked demo or something like that, reason why I needed to get a legal version to catch up), my version 22 I could play some fun missions, and sandbox a little. Version 24 I can sandbox a little, with more stuff available, but all the past fan missions are broken, some poor attempts to implement basic rules are broken too (I figured the cursor teleporting issue is the thing trying to stay the cursor in your "area" except it does nto limit where you build, or even indicate where is your area, so I ALWAYS end with my base in some location that has nothing to do with the cursor area...), and it seemly has more technical bugs.
I am now actually happy that I bought the bundle for machinarium, and that I paid what I tought would be worth to machinarum, if I had bought it for CC I would be insanely upset ( am not upset, I am only frustated), I am EVEN HAPPIER that I don't bought CC on Datarealms site, it is ******* expensive and totally not worth it.

Machinarium is totally worth getting the bundle, for those that haven't played it. Hell, its soundtrack alone is worth it.

In other news, it's already past the 500k mark. Holy crap. Data had better use that money to give people more frequent updates.

hmm -- i actually agree with ashford there. when you make at least $50,000 in a single day of a sale, it's disingenuous to present yourself as poor. so i think that image they use is a bit deceptive. that said, *most* indies are poor, even if some aren't. take myself as an example: i have my own pay what you want thing for immortal defense (it's not a sale, it's perpetual, you can buy the game at whatever you want at any time you want) but it hasn't led to riches, just to about $150 a month.
