I didn't want to chip in to the this because I only really had negativity, but since you seemed to take it well form the others I changed my mind.

I strongly disagree, because search engines index the content not the meaning, its always better to be more descriptive WTF

You really think people who buy shareware games are sat typing "windows vista game" into google? Also I don't think you understand how search engines work, this is not 1995 where filling your page with text will get you higher rankings for that content.

Being overly wordy instead of focusing on your selling points is just confusing to potential players and customers.

You're underestimating people, that statement was written after couple of them contacted my support section. Some of them even used an actual word "firewall".

Then have a support section with that information, confusing new visitors with an information overload when they're still trying to decide to play your game or not is a bad idea.

There are screenshots, videos and even a trailer. Not sure how you missed all of those  Screamy

They're easy to miss because your site layout is a mess. Right now you've got a front page which is a wall of text, then a games pages listing basic info on your two games, then a more info page for your game which finally gets to what people want to read. All the stuff in your more info page should be on your front page not buried 3 pages deep. You want visitors to the site to be reading about your commercial game product straight away, not an essay on your history of game development.

Your first priority should be on your front page, screenshots, videos, demo and buy links.

Also, even once you get to your secret hidden game info page all the selling points of your game are currently lost amidst a big block of a paragraph text filled with information I don't care about.

Well, my game got those rewards after editors of those sites tested my game on various their platforms. Some of the awards are only compatibility awards, others are game-play awards and editor's choice.

Sadly they're not real awards. They're just from download aggregators and they look INCREDIBLY amateurish.

Ultimately I didn't try your game because the site, the screenshots everything looks really amateurish. It looked strongly like this was your first attempt at making a game and instead of seeing it as a learning experience you then decided to sell it for $9.

My problem is there's so many amazing free indie games that the ones I pay for have to really be a cut above them. This looks like the kind of thing most people on this forum would put out for free.

EDIT: Take a look at this site, posted one thread above yours http://www.trainyard.ca/ now THAT'S a nice website, and I'll probably end up buying their game.

Konedima, I'm just not getting you. Kids love my game, the game is not for you, I got that the first time, but I'm not going to make any of changes you suggested because you're the only one. My site's fine, people say they're impressed with the design and looks, I'm not talking about web designers here, but the usual players and visitors. I respect everyone's opinion, but its just not possible to meet all of them, so I'm focusing on the game development.

... and since you've spent more time on writing the post then clicking the actual site, it does make me wonder.

@Perrin .. the likes and dislikes are subjective, I don't like the site you referred and dislike the game, as its the poor clone of well known old games. It has a very basic graphics and I can make such game in 1 day.

Invader Attack is not my first game as I've been making Flash games for others for years. Of course, action script and c/c++ are not even close to each other.

That site is SO much better than yours. Subjective or not your site is a terrible mess. As I explained you've basically buried all your selling points, three pages deep hidden in a paragraph of text that opens with a list of windows operating systems. The first thing you present visitors to your site is an essay on you and nothing about your games.

As for clone games that could be made in a day I think you're in a bit of a glass house there.

Why are people liking my site and my game then? Am I sensing a bit of a thing called jealousy on your side? The game you referred to is ridiculous, a year of development is stated on the site!? Maybe for a beginner.

Jealousy? *sighs* Forget it... this is a waste of my time.

I will tell you now though if your response to criticism is going to be "well I'm right and you guys are just jealous of how awesome I am" then you're never going to be very good.

Like I said kids are liking my site and my game, you're too old dude. My game is not for you. Trainyard game you advertised previously is not worth $1.99, I'd pay 1 cent at the most, but won't purchase it at all, since I'm able to make such game easily. So the statement about the maker of that game spending more than a year is a bit insulting too.

I do like criticism, when its not as deceiving as yours. I like constructive, not evil, criticism.

You should see what Jamie made, to see the game that is worth $1.99 and more:

http://bit.ly/qwakappstore

... now that's a game kids love, its actually for all ages. I loved it since the Amiga.

I was trying to help you actually, I was suggesting how you could improve your site. By moving your game info to the front page, spelling out your unique selling point into some easily read bullet points.

I wasn't even attacking your game since at the time I hadn't tried it, I was explaining to you what lead to my initial decision not to download it. So you could take this into account and make improvements so more people would try your game.

Since you want people to buy your game I'd have thought your best tactic would be to figure out what are the hurdles to people giving it a go and removing them, rather than telling them they're too old and wouldn't get it.

I also think you insulting that TrainYard game like you're doing now is way out of line. Their game looks really nice and you're being a bit horrible about it just because I suggested they've got a nicer website than yours. I was just using them as example of good marketing. I could pick a hundred other games with nicer websites too as examples.

I'm sure that game you mentioned has potential, I just noted the downsides, which are pretty obvious. My site's ok, because I'm developing more games, the game page, where all the games will be listed, is going to grow, so moving Invader Attack to the front page makes no sense at all. Its quite different when you got just one game. I'm already 50% done with the second game, third comes soon after.

But, I do thank you as your tone, in your last message, is much better  Beer!

I think you guys are being way to hostile because he's new. One of the reasons I rarely post on the forums.

I wasnt attempting hostility, just constructive feedback. I think your conspiracy theories are even less helpful.

@Perrin .. you seem incapable of understanding what's someone telling you. Ghostwheel only noticed something that, for a normal person, is obvious. You, on the other hand, are a hypocrite and an evil person incapable of doing anything but spreading evil and confusion. You see me as a competition, which is quite normal, and this is something I expected on this forum, that is the sole reason I asked what you think about my game. But, to continuously spread evil, might mean you're experiencing problems on more than one level.
