... Am I the only one who prefered the red platforms ? It fits more to the original game, I think.

Yeah, now that I'm comparing the two, red was much better.

Edit:

I know that it is huge, but they were pretty dang big in the game.

Just to be sure, we are using the Kid as a warning for some traps, right?

AWESOME!!! now that we got cherries and spikes we can do both the stage traps and items xD. btw i think the kid needs to be smiling Smiley but anyway. i had a stupid idea today. since in the future will be victory poses and stuff i think in this when you win you'll listen "NO, I WANNA BE THE GUY!" and then a cherry will fall and kill you, the kid will appear in your place and instead of tha classic "player 1/x character wins!" it can appear something like "The Kid Wins!". good or bad idea?

Not for multi-player, but I can imagine something like that happening in adventure mode at some point.

Edit: Now that I think about it, why would he be smiling? Have you seen what he was to go through?

Edit: I just thought, What if he shot a small bullet or two when he passes by, causing minor damage and knockback?

Edit: And who says that he should always escape the traps he is running away from?  Well, hello there!

Other than the spikey hair (which I hate drawing, but I might give it a shot) and the black gun, I don't see how I was inaccurate on the Kid. Besides, He's probably much more recognized if he resembles his pixelized self that people play as over and over and over and over and over again.  And I knew the moon looked like that, I just didn't think it would look good that way. But you are definitely right that it would be more recognizable, so it is probably better.

His face looks like a plug socket. It makes no sense to try to detail a ~50 pixel tall sprite the same as you would for a sprite under 20 pixels tall. It just ends up looking completely weird. At the very least give him some eyes, or more detail to his mouth or something.

As for what Goodbye just said. All the characters thus far have been given more detail to look closer to their official art, and they're still recognizable. Just look at the sprite for Spuelunky. It's entirely possible make it look like both the sprite and the higher res artwork at the same time with the sprite sizes we're using.

I disagree in the case of IWBTG, because none of the graphics were any good/ripped anyway, so it only makes sense to have the character looking simple. Plus i love the expression on his face at the moment, and any more detail would most likely ruin that.

That wasn't supposed to be his chin.


And I didn't mean that he be underdetailed like the pixelated version. I meant that he should resemble the pixelated version more than some artwork.
