For those interested in Cab Calloway:

Old Mill Pond
Have you Got any Castles?
Swooner Crooner
Clean Pastures
Swing Monkey Swing
Mother Goose goes to Hollywood
Tin Pan Alleycats
Woodland Cafe

I wish I could find Fly Frolic online because it was one of my favorites as a kid. There is a couple more as well but I can't find them online.

also in a similar vein: Ghost of Stephen Foster

Yeah! This is like my favorite rendition of the song, I just wish there was a higher quality version.

The Ghost of Stephen Foster music video is modelled after the old Cab Calloway betty boop cartoons (down to copying him dancing at the beginning of Minnie The Moocher)

real art looks like the mona lisa or a halo poster and is about being old or having your wife die and sometimes the level goes in reverse

Yeah, I prefer the version in the animation too, as well as the version of The Scat song in Old Man in the Mountain.

Some more animations goodness:

A short by some students from Gobelins (I would love to learn there!)

I really hope they plan on finishing this, last I heard it was cancelled!

If there is anyone out there who still hasn't seen

by Don Hertzfeldt, I strongly suggest you watch it, at least so that you get the jokes.

Now that's my kind of topic!
I loooove me some animation. Maybe some of those will already be mentionned...

I didnt see the Old Man and the sea mentionned anywhere!

Its made by Alexander Petrov, based off a story by Ernest Hemingway. A feature-length animated movie made from finger painting on glass, its one of my all time favorite pieces of animation out there.

I highly recommand the Drawn blog, they showcase awesome animation, cartoons and illustration.
Heres a few gems they featured recently:

The Tadpole, a horribly cute lil animation short, they posted it just days ago on the blog.

A series of animated clips made for the identity spots of a TV channel. Robots dancing to Late Of the Pier's "Space and the woods"? yessssssssss (love that fucking band)

Awesome Don Hertzfeldt short that will make you cringe in the best way possible. It was shown in front of a large audience where everyone cringed together, must have been adorable to see

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bt9F7tKcZcU
A short animation made using google docs. No, really; like you can find a link to the actual document and watch it for reals. its awesome! I think it was made by google people to showcase the possibilities of their thing.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zR3X9hJpbDo
Awesome animated short, a Subaru tv ad.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cjwoit91SxU
Goldfish - Get busy living. Adorable animated music video.

http://vimeo.com/10149605
Logorama. This video is pretty famous, its that short with a city made of logos.

http://vimeo.com/15126262
Salesman Pete, a neat, colorful 3d cartoon.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m75xgnpOu2I
Super mario bros 3 in paper. There, youre clicking the link now.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rEUxlwb2uFI
Weird-ass trippy animation with cartoon characters and logos morphing into one another.

http://vimeo.com/11414910
Awesome animation about a space explorer dude helping two alien monsters find true love. One of these shorts that end up being unexpectedly touching.

http://vimeo.com/10019015
Adorable animation with an old guy and a giant cat.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rX6M9heKzpE
Frog In A Suit, a neat short/pilot by Joe Murray, the guy behind Rocko’s Modern Life.

http://vimeo.com/6898451
Yellow Cake, a cute short by Nick Cross. I love Nick Cross!

http://vimeo.com/6140404
Dance of the neon knight by Paul Rayment. This one is pretty famous I think. Good old fighting animations. These kind of shorts feel a bit juvenile at times but this one is so stylish and well made, you let it slide...

http://www.cartoonbrew.com/brewtv/alpha9.html
The terrible thing of alpha 9. Sci fi short about a space monster hunting guy going after an infamous creature on a hostile planet. I love this short, its super stylish, funny, cute and sad. The best shorts have these four qualities! This is one of my favorite animated shorts out there.

The maker of Please Say Something just released a new film:

I also rather like this one:

And this one's a super-cute short:

and also

and also also
Meet Buck, from the creators of the aforementioned Salesman Pete.

The "Melfina" of the cast is FAR edgier and less boring, btw.
