You requested sound effects in the collab thread. All of my Assemblee SFX are available, and if you have any specific requests I'd love to hear them. I can do chip sounds too. Gentleman The only thing I don't do is speech.

Sounds good dude ill shoot you a message in a day or two once I have a more solid prototype down, the only thing I know atm is I want to have some sort of gardening mechanic around a bigger plotline, undecided yet if a more serious feel or childlike (SOM ref) would be better, so give it a few days I thinks...

So the game is gonna be about a elderly man who lives off the land and whos mental health is in a steady decline in recent years, I guess gameplay wise Id like to try to do a short, more mature animal crossing, with focus on platforming elements but combined with a light simulation feel.... Could be a recipie for crap, who knows...

Been sketching alot in my time away think I have a pretty solid idea now.  The meat of the game is going to be collecting wood, food from your crops, maybe hunting if I find the time, though focus should be around the crops in the garden as alot of the story arcs take place there.

Im thinking some sort of arctic type setting or dense woodland with lots of bad weather, so surviving off the land isn't all that easy, lots of weather obsticles, hidden dangers, as well as dealing with the mental problems of being alone in a unforgiving land, I guess the theme of the game would be lonelyness as alot of the obsticles in the game will require the player to be self sufficent and deal with the real and mental dangers himself.

Time to start programming!

So got a little code done, figured its time to learn how to get box2d working so that was most of todays coding/learning, and mocked up the rough sketchy sort of feel of the game so far, though I think I will be going for a low res pixel look so this is mostly just a guide of sorts.... though low res 3d could be fun also, I just dont want to sink to much time into the art.

Musical help needed also...

That looks incredible. It would be amazing if you actually went with that art style, but do what you must to finish it in time.

Thanks guys, yea id love to do the game like that but would probably take longer than I have time for... have to get back to blackmarket/voyager projects soonish.  Good news is I found a musician Mr Craig Stern Smiley  So happy  Beer!

heres progress, this time ingame, been pixeling today outside of work so its hella work in progress, got box 2d working for mostly everything now, and weather effects, next up overhauling my old dialog system to be a bit more user friendly, and pixeling up the interiors:

Hahah so true  Cheesy  So got the inventory system sorted last night which is cool its been causing me problems for a day or two now, finally got it working nice with the mouse, that and I box2d'd me some trees  Cheesy  Massive time waste but was fun, so when your character lumbers them they fall down n stuff, yayyyy

Theres a bit of slowdown in the vid, was recorded from my laptop... And theres a fair few temp graphics floating around.

Yea gets quite dark at night at the moment, should have recorded it when the game cycle was in the day, graphics are a little less tinted then.
