Perhaps wood could be an obstacle you have to make contact with to 'bore' through it. You have to touch it for a few seconds before it is gnawed away.
This looks cool already, by the way. Love the multi-power-up system.

Sweet. I'm working on Color Space Beaver as well. Mine's a bit of a Shmup, but pretty different. Good luck!

Started coding the power-up system and sorting out a plot, if we could call it that... well, let's see where are we going: Sweet. I'm working on Color Space Beaver as well. Mine's a bit of a Shmup, but pretty different. Good luck!
Good luck to you, sir! I've seen your model and looks great so far -- shall beavers rule the space.

I absolutely love the screenshot. It reminds me of some of those awful DOS shareware games that used to come jam-packed onto a CD in the late 90s like Game Empire and the like. Specifically I'm thinking of Skunny The Squirrel. I mean this in the nicest possible way. Don't change a thing.

Thanks for the feedback, guys! Here I uploaded a small "proof of concept" to show how the game should feel and look like. http://www.mediafire.com/?zmmymdjwvthRight now the game is just trowing at you a bunch of beavers to kill mercilessy. Use the arrow keys to move, CTRL to fire and 0-1-2-3 to shift through different color powers.

Hai guys. Right now, I am developing enemies. Due to the plot I've sorted out, you're gonna fight agaisnt other beavers. The question is: how can I differentitate them enough one from another? I'm going to change guns and facial details, but I feel like it's not enough. Should I change body color, too? I gave it a shot, and it feel a little awkard to have rainbow beavers floating around... Maybe changing cockpit color? Adding belts and bandanas? Enlight me, gentlemen!

if I squint my eyes - the 1st and 3rd seem very similar.
maybe play a little with the body sizes/posture (eg - make one chubby and more sat upright, or make some rules like smaller ones are faster than fat ones...) - if you can get the silhouette for each to read uniquely then you are halfway there in making them look distinct.

You could always give them different colored jumpsuits or something, leaving the heads the same color. That might not look too goofy. Or make them even more different from eachother byt having a normal one, a tall skinny one, and a fat one or something like that.

This. Also, different colors and shapes of helmets.
