Maybe it could be like marbles (the kids game) combined with those ball maze ones (Where you navigate a ball through a maze, of course)

A marble-in-a-maze game, but one so fiendishly difficult that in order to make it through the tutorial you must be able to comprehend and synthesize the entirety of human history and culture Hand Fork LeftBlinkHand Knife Right

...anyhow, this TRPG is also based off of the Glass Bead Game - maybe it might give you some ideas? Shrug

The idea that the game is almost impossible to comprehend just makes this more awesome.

Ah, neat - that looks a lot more solid than other games based around it that I've seen.  Will read more into it when I get home.
